Haunted Majora's Mask Cartridge

The title and URL are about the closest thing to an actual title that this ARG has, but maybe not having a title makes it even more creepy.

Anyway, the story starts off with this guy (his webhandle is Jadusable) who starts telling a story about how he got this unmarked Majora's Mask cartridge at a garage sale. Unfortunately, the cartridge seems to be...well, a bit strange. It was just a bit buggy until Jadusable performed something called the "Fourth Day glitch," and from there, things went to hell. Save files started appearing. A creepy in-game statue started following him. Songs played backwards. Jadusable started to get freaked out. And then, something calling itself "Ben" starts attacking him personally, jumping from the game to his capture card to his computer. I'm not going to spoil it, but there's a very chilling ending with a few huge twists.

That's just the first part, though. There was also a website (the URL in the topic description) based around some sort of "moon cult." People tried using hints that were dropped in order to crack some passwords on the site. Unfortunately, before this could really take off, Jadusable cut it short due to lack of time/funds/people to help him. He returned for a second phase, though, which required much more player interaction.

Now is as good a time as any to catch up on this series, just because the third and final phase (just like there are 3 days in Majora's Mask) is going to be hopefully completed soon. Jadusable is making an actual video game, in which Ben starts messing directly with the player. The story will require the game, the website, and his YouTube channel.

Anyway, I highly recommend you check this out. It's a very creepy ARG, and a thoroughly enjoyable one.

This was back on the old forum... I was gonna post it here once we got things settled but I fail like that so I'm glad you did that. 8)

I've gotten three of my friends to read it all and watch the videos. It was amazing.

Whoah I totally spaced on the different parts. I need to catch up with this.

This series always hit home with me because as a kid I was scared of the normal version of this game...

So far I've only read the chapters and watched the videos, but I'm really impressed with this.

Like many have said before, just the regular Majora's Mask was fucking creepy, so this really hit home for me.

The Truth document and its correlation with the video of the oracle on the youtube channel. The whole "Don't open it" thing was rather chilling, since I had watched the video right after opening and reading the document, haha.

I'm not sure if I want to take the time to look at the stuff from the second phase, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading the first phase, and I might want to download the game when it comes out.

This is back!?

I remember when this first started, I loved it. It was so eerie. Unfortunately, I couldn't give it all of the attention it needed to stay informed. I sort of fell off after the "don't open this" document was released. When all of that cult business came about I was far too lost to figure it out. This is really exciting though, a game? I thought maybe it would be some sort of trippy Majora's Mask hack but with the news of it being first person, I suppose not. I'm really excited to see where this leads and can only hope I can hold a better grip on it this time.

Ok, I'll freely admit, this kept me up for almost a full week. I used to play this a long time ago, and I played it again right before I ever heard of this. I haven't been able to TOUCH my N64 since viewing this, nor will I for at least six months.

That's pretty eerie.

I had always wanted to get more into Zelda games (i beat twilight Princess and own Link to the past/Ocarana of time on my wii but never play them) and Majoras mask always looked the most interesting to me......

FUCK YES! This was one of the best stories! I thought it was done but now it's back, yaaaaay. Now I can use this to keep me awake and I wait for new MH/TT/EMH.
