To Each Their Own GAME THREAD

Get up.
Something is speaking to you. A hushed whisper carried in by drafty doors and open windows. A silence filled to the brim with unspoken noise. Your skin begins to tingle as if something is stroking it. You try to find the source of this sensation, but find yourself lost in the darkness inside of your own mind.
Get up.
You hear it again. More urgently, but just as serene. You swing your head back and forth, looking for the voice. A bright flash stabs at your eyes and you try to put your arm up to protect them. You feel it staying exactly as it was.
You need to get out.
You begin the recognize the voice now. The light grows and burns brighter, consuming the black mist that surrounds you. You can begin to feel your limbs waking up, your lungs gasping, and your heart pounding.
You are in danger.
Your eyelids shoot open as you come to. You find yourself sitting on the floor, leaning back against the wall. Sunlight trickles in through an opened window, the breeze causing the torn and faded curtains to sway. Your eyes scan the room and find it to be unknown to you. The bed is broken in several places, the wallpaper is peeling, and the door does not fully close.
I need to get out.

It is morning and you all are separated.

I jolt out of my sleep violently at the voice's command, snapping my head back and banging it hard against the wall.

"Ow, shit!" I yell, grabbing my aching scalp.

I look up at the unfamiliar room around me, and panic begins creeping in under a layer of confusion.
What the fuck?..." I ask no one in particular.

I look around the room for a minute and decide that there's nothing especially enlightening in it. I stand up on weak, shaky legs and head to the door. I open it slowly and cautiously peer out.

I stand up scared out of my mind. I compose my self and walk out of the room to figure out where I am.

This isn't an open RP; you had to have signed up to play.

I instinctively check my pockets for my meds. I go to the open window, hopeful for any indication of where I am.

I get up, look around.
Turning the flashlight around in my hand, I go to the door and slowly open it. Readying my flashlight as a weapon, I peek though.

I briskly swipe my hands across the both of my arms numerous times, trying to mentally cleanse myself of the strange sensations that I just felt run across my skin. I prop myself on my knees, ready to stand on my feet, but suddenly hesitate, peeking under the bed somewhat warily.

I tentatively slide up the wall, bringing myself to my feet. My hand brushes my pocket, and I almost feel sad that the warm caresses had left me. However, instead of feeling just plain denim, my fingers feel something hard beneath a thin layer of fabric. I remove the small camera from my pocket, examining it thoroughly before stuffing it back in; at least that's something familiar. My eyes dart around the room searching for movement, a reaction that comes automatically with the sense of danger, and I place my hands behind me on the wall to steady myself. Deciding against calling out for the voice, I instead wander to the window, taking slow, silent steps, and peer outside.

I slowly stand up, looking around. A shudder passes through me. I absentmindedly brush at myself, ridding myself of the stroking feeling I had felt. I feel a familiar weight in my pocket, and upon shoving my hand into said area, find my ipod. I don't speak. I feel as if any noise would be unnessecarily dangerous.

I cautiously open the door a bit wider, looking through the space to see what lay on the other side.

I am frightened, but I don't want to move. The paralysis of sleep is fading slowly and my muscles feel achy and lethargic. That is what this feels like, a dream. I am still asleep probably. I look over slowly at the broken bed, but do not move towards it. Instead, I scream loudly. If it's a dream, I should wake up. If not, well, I don't want to think that far ahead.

I hear a scream, and wide eyed, I back off from the door. Putting my back against the adjacent wall, I think to myself Maybe the hit and run technique won't work here.
My mind is racing with questions as to how I got here and what kind of torture palace did I end up in. Again I think to myself, Focus Sharon. We need to get out of here. and I try to listen for any other noises. The shuffling of feet, opening or closing of doors, or (God help me) another scream.
Clutching the flashlight I tell myself, If there's another scream I'm booking it.

You see 4 other doors in the hallway, all wooden and rotting. Old specks of drywall and dust blanket the floor. There is a staircase at the opposite end of the hallway.

You look around outside through the window, drips of sunlight slipping through the wall of leaves and branches of a dense forest. Below you can see the overgrown grass and weeds accompanying the dirty lawn chairs that make up a backyard long since abandoned.

Crusergirl
The floorboards creak and moan under your feet with every step you take. You reach out towards the door before the echoing screech fills your ears. You backpedal further into the room than before and strain your ears for other sounds.

The floor beneath the bed is covered in trash, dust, and various other pieces of the house that have since broken off and been kicked under the bed.

You see a large canvas of trees packed together in an almost unnatural manner.

You see the hallway as old, filthy, and abandoned as the bedroom you woke up in. At the near end of the hall is a staircase, pieces of plaster covering each step, and to the other side are four other doors.

Your voice bounces around the room, building, and neighborhood. However, as you soon realize, you did not wake up from some hideous dream.

I hear a scream and I back away quickly from the door, nearly screaming myself. I bite my lip, clenching my fists as I lean against the wall. How did I get here? I strain to hear more from here I stand, eyes flickering around the room for anything that could be possibly used as a weapon.

What an odd scene. Removing the camera from my pocket I snap a picture of the unusual foliage, not bothering to see how it turned out before I loop the cord attached to it around my wrist. I then decide I have to know if anyone else is here. My steps careful on the rotten floorboards I grab hold of the doorknob, waiting for a moment before flinging it open, a bit surprised at my own strength when it makes a banging noise against the wall. Before leaping forwards into the unknown I peek my head through the door, casting glances in both directions.

First a scream and then a door banging?
I weigh my options for what to do. None of them feel like they are going to end well. But if I'm going to get kidnapped then I'm going to give them hell for it.
I quickly walk to the door, throw it open, and raise my flashlight high for a quick smackdown if need be. I walk into the hallway and quickly look around for the nearest exit looking like thing. Then I run for it.

A scream from somewhere else in the building makes me jump as i weigh my options. Seconds later a door slams. What the hell?

I think for a second to call out to the owner of the scream, but decide against it. If something bad is happening to them, i'd rather not draw attention to myself.

I try to take a step out into the hallway and can't seem to do it. Instead, i turn around and survey the room for something i might be able to use as a weapon. Something heavy or sharp, anything. Certainly whatever's going on here can't be good, and i'd like to be prepared for the worst.

Noticing that nothing has changed in the few minutes that I've been on the floor wailing, I decide to stand up, open the door, and enter into the hallway outside.

I idly wonder who the house belonged to before giving the yard one last look. Satisfied that I have no clue where I am, I go to the door and nudge it open, cautiously making my way outside.
