How to deal with gamejacks?

I'm probably going to be creating an ARG that, while not having Slenderman in it, will be done with the same "feel" as those videos. It'll have the creepy happenings and constant videos and all that. I'm hoping this is the correct place because it does say it's just for ARGs and not necessarily just Slenderman ARGs.

I plan on somewhat jut learning from experience with what I'm doing, but I do plan on asking advice from other. This is one of those times! I have a question about gamejacks. I was reading where on the EMH ustream, someone kept taunting the crew saying they knew where Jessa was. It was a gamejack, and according to the wiki, Evan eventually "shot him down." How do you go about dealing with that without breaking character?

I doubt very much that I'd ever have a live podcast (I have no webcam) but I'm sure the problem could still arise. If I have to deal with someone like that, how do I go about it without having "myself" know things that I shouldn't, or without replying in a way that messes up the story? Thanks for the help!

I think a lot of it is just staying in character. Like, how do you think Evan would respond to some jackass spamming the chat saying he knew where Jessa was? Well, that's how he responded. (the stream is archived btw, you can see what he did)

You just sort of roll with the punches and don't let them distract you.

It's really all a matter of staying in character but still being democratic. It also depends on how much you want to engage your audience. If your being really audience aware, you can actually listen to them, or talk to them in the comments before, as a character, deciding that they're just blowing smoke. Or, depending on the character that you play, you can be upset that someone would try and jerk you around when your in such a delacate situation. Or you can ignore them, like most puppetmasters do. Since you don't plan to livestream, it's less of an issue, you won't have to think on your feet like that.
