Slender Man a Silent?
K, so I have been getting into Doctor Who pretty hard lately. This past season they introduced a creature that has been here since the beginning of time, had influenced man for as long. They are tall, have big beige heads, wear a suit and, as soon as you look away from them, you loose all memory of them. they are called Silents. As I was watching the show and they revieled more and more about the Silents, I realized...wait a second, I have seen this sort of thing before...SLENDY! So, What if slendy isn't a magical creature, but an anciet alien type thing? Something we cant comprehend so we chalk it up to the supernatural?

I think most people think of Slendy as a sort of interdimensional being more than a magical creature.
Also, I'm pretty certain the Silence are actually based on Slendy.

But seriously, This has been talked about a lot in the Doctor Who topic itself. But yeah Chewie is right. We see slendy more as inter-dimensional due to the Eldritch mannerisms. We're all heavily suspicious of the fact that the Silence are probably based on Slendy.
No confirmation yet but there's a lot of similarities.

Re: Slender Man a Silent?
There's a guy I know from Uni who tells people (non-whovians) about the Silence as if they were real, and mentions ancient legends, citing them as psychic imprints of the Silence.
I, on the other hand, tell the Slender Man myth to people (non-slenderians) as if it were real, and give examples of similar concepts, including the Silence, that exist in popular culture, citing them as subconscious imprints of the Slender Man.
I found it funny when he told his kitchen-mates about the Silence, and all the while I had a trump card stashed up my sleeve. By the end of the conversation, the guy refused to let me walk back by myself.
It was a fun night.

Traumatizing friends and co-workers is fun, it really is.
