The reason I posted it here is because it will EVENTUALLY evolve into a video series, just not yet. Give it a few weeks, and it will be.

Opinions? Feedback? Etc, Etc?

I'm assuming Damien didnt notice Slendy in "First Set of Photographs"? IIRC, and I havent been keeping up with TT for a while, but didnt Noah from TribeTwelve not notice Slenderman at first? Dont know if I'm a big fan of that approach, but I'm willing to keep an eye on The Hive Minded. I mean, Marble Hornets is pretty much the only blog/vlog I keep up with, anyway, so I think I can keep up with one or two more without getting my mind too cluttered. And I'll actually get to see this from the beginning (got on the MH train literally a few days after season 1 ended) Smile

Also, if you need to borrow a camera, I've got oodles of film cameras sitting on a shelf, as if in a museum dedicated to the good old days of photography.... right next to the table that holds my record player and meager record collection Very Happy

edit: well, just noticed you're in england, so I guess I must rescind my offer to mail you a camera to tinker with, but, at any rate, I will b try to keep up with this blog Smile

Hey, Control. Cheers for the feedback.

No, Damien doesn't actually know of Slenderman until much later on. In fact, he learns about proxies first before learning about Slenderman at all.

If you really want to lend me a camera, I will forever be in your debt. My current camera is busted; the screen's more destroyed than the messed up phone from TribeTwelve, It can't do HD, and all the photographs I take with the thing have way too much noise in them for me to really enjoy taking photographs. But then again, it is a camera from around 2009, so I can't really expect the most top-notch results.

Like I said before, if you do send me a camera, I will probably find some way to include you in the series, or include you in the credits, or something like that. All my babies will be yours, my friend.

Cheers,
TheHiveMinded (Damien)

lol well most of my cameras except for a Pentax K-r are all of the film variety. Probably easier and cheaper to find one on your side of the pond than borrow one mine.

Just a thought: if you could find a toy camera (like a Holga, or preferably something similar that hasnt been hyped up by marketers and priced way out of its league almost to the point of a good used film camera with a decent lens), I think the look would really go well with what you're doing. In general, Holga and other toy cameras have cheap, low res optics that might work well with concealing Slendy. But then again, you'd have the hassle and expense of film, so you might be better off making the pictures in Photoshop and blaming it on Slendy Smile

just me rambling and such as I usually do Smile

Last time anyone in our entire family bought a film camera was in 1996. It recorded onto Hi-8's, and the quality was le rubbish. I'd rather get my hands on a Digital Camera running on a Li-Ion battery, with a good 10-12 MP behind it, and a bit of 720p to boot. I don't really venture into the whole film camera market ever since the last film camera I had blew my face off and died.

Actually, now that I come to remember it, I DID buy a tape camera around 2007-ish. It was a cheap Sony that recorded in about 320p. Tape got jammed in the first week. Tried to eject the tape, and the whole tape ejecting mechanism got jammed, and now it's in a box somewhere in my attic.

If you could recommend a good tape camera, in a decent 480 to 720p ratio, I might go for it, but anything above £150 is really out of my price range. Ideally looking for something around £80.

PS: I'm looking to scope out a deal on something like this:
amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004I1KP5C/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=electronics
Panasonic cameras have always been trustworthy with me since way back (I still have a 2004 model that takes photographs in 6 stunning MEGAPIXELS *Le gasp*)

I'm not very knoweledgable in the field of video cameras; my area of expertise is still cameras (both film and digital). Most digital SLR cameras do pretty decent video; anything by Canon or Nikon should do pretty well in both still shots and video. Sony SLR's should perform pretty well, but I'm not so sure they have lenses that can rival Nikon or Canon, if that's something that you care about. If you're looking for video, though, might wanna stray away from the Pentax K-r, though. Their video seems to be an afterthought kinda thing, like "well, Canon and Nikon cameras do video, so we need to, as well". But, in Pentax's defence, the digital cameras still use the K-mount lenses, meaning you can use any of the old K-mount lenses, which can be picked up cheap.

If your budget doesnt allow for an SLR, and they can be pricey for digital models, the point and shoot cameras should suffice for what you're wanting, imo. And, honestly, there's probably not going to be too much of a difference between brands; just pick one within your price range that has the megapixels and video res you want and go with it. Any of the cool extras like night vision or manual controls or whatever would be a big plus if you need them. I dont know how the Brittish Pounds currency relates to ours, so I cant give you a judgement on specific models; digital model numbers for cameras now, especially point and shoot, are very cryptic, so I'd actually have to google search a MAnufacturer's lineup to tell you which one to get, anyway Smile

So what's up with the whole "hacked skype account" thing? Will we get any details on that?

Due time, my friend.

It has begun.

Sorry for double-posting. I really know I shouldn't, but I feel like you should know this, and I don't know if edits update the forums like new posts do.

I'm really sorry, but I'm going to have to put my series on hiatus until I get a newer camera. As you might have gathered from the intro video, this camera's quality is sup-par at best, only able to churn out 480p, noisy, grainy, low-end sounding video. I'm gonna hold off for a while until I can get my hands on a new Panasonic, somewhere within the range of £50 to £150.

EDIT: 2nd Video!
