Slendermans Fedora

Post by Picklen'UrSickel on Thu Jun 28, 2012 3:18 pm

I dont see the point on why slenderman should even have a fedora ... like I dont think it adds anything to the mythos it doesn't make him scary or interesting in my opinion ... but people for some reason love the idea of slendy wearing one .. where did this even come from!? and whats your opinion of this fedora craze?

Well it does make him stand out from the other fears a bit.(As far as I know none of the other fears wear a hat.)
He could also tilt it forward to hide his face (or lack thereof) so that you would pause for a second after seeing him before you realise the truth.

It could be a tie to the Shadow People frequently mentioned on Coast to Coast AM. They're moderately similar and it might just be natural interplay.

I think the fedora is for him to be able to go out in public. I'll be sure to double check men with fedoras whenever I walk by one...

What
Who gives him a fedora
Seriously, who

It all makes sense now, Slenderman is a displaced Nice Guyâ„¢ who stalks all those that have "friendzoned" him.

But really don't do that, it detracts from the lack-of-face which is his biggest defining characteristic.

I hope it is a disguise and that the next evolution is the Groucho Marx fake nose and eyeglasses.

Considering one of the first slenderblogs and probably the most influential slenderblog, Just Another Fool, featured Slenderman with a hat on (do not remember exactly if it was a fedora even though I'm pretty sure it was), this isn't exactly something to go "omgwut where did that interpretation come from" to. Razz

I think some of the earlier somethingawful pics may have even had slender man with a hat on.

Haha you're here for that? I'm here to kick ass and take names.

But yeah, I do have some more to say.

Personally, I think the fedora was a feature to ol tall and faceless early on because it highlighted a different appeal that he had early on; instead of being all "eldritch shit and nonsense", he also had that "shady mysterious" kind of appeal to him to. Fedora conceals some of the face, and increases the mystery factor to him. It also makes him seem more "human."

What does teleporting have to do with anything? That doesn't mean he doesn't walk around.

I wouldn't really call what Slender Man does as "teleporting". That kind of downplays the eldritch side to it.
