So, anyone play any short indie horror games lately?
I recently found one called Labyrinth, it's apparently based upon the legend of the Minotaur and the maze. The atmosphere's actually pretty good, and it plays quite a bit like Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
On the more low-rez end there was one that came out I believe last October called Imscared - A Pixellated Nightmare. I haven't gotten the chance to play that one yet, but from some of the LPs I've seen of it, it looks pretty good.

While I wouldn't call it short (it has about 9 hours of gameplay), I recently played an adventure/horror game called The Cat Lady. I watched someone do a LP, and by the end of it I had bought the game and ended up playing through the night.
I loved it. It might not be action packed, and a little clunky to control at times, but the story gripped me. One of my favorite games of 2012.

This isn't necessarily horror, but it's got a great atmosphere. It's a little game called Closure. It's a flash game. The concept is you're stuck in the dark and need to use light to help you escape and find, well, closure. The twist is that you can only walk on things that exist, and things are only solid when they're illuminated...
And now it's a full game on Steam, too!

Here are a few:
Hide: Pretty similar to Slender but was actually released a few months prior.
Which: Awesome art design. Short but creepy.
Minotaur: I'm working on a game called Minotaur. It's a PSX style Silent Hill/Clock Tower/80's slasher type of game. I've gotta check out Labyrinth because it sounds pretty similar.

I don't know about all of you, but Hotline Miami can be pretty horrific when you get into the story.

I've actually heard of both of those! I've been meaning to LP them... maybe this October? ^w^

Silent Hill meets Clock Tower meets Slasher Flick, you say? I'm in.

I've played SCP: Containment Breach, starring SCP-173(my avatar), it's still in beta, and the controls are a bit clunky. But overall, a good scare

You know they have a Slenderman mod for that game? With Proxies?

I ended up playing "Imscared" a pixilated Nightmare. It's has intense gameplay but short gameplay, so it balances it out.
It's not impressive graphics wise, but after you manage to complete it, it's one of those horror games that kinda sits and festers in your mind like a mine, and then randomly, just before you're about to pass out, it explodes horror and realizations, and emotions that you'd rather not feel right before you slept.

That actually sounds quite riviting. Maybe you have to figure out a way to get past each proxy and obtain a puzzle piece that each one has on them, and then it helps you find Slernderman and get to the end of the game.

I just finish Imscared about a month ago. Pretty great.

SCP Containment Breach is probably the best I've played. Mostly because SCP-173 makes me yelp every time I see it, and I always see that figure that isn't really there in the mist. It really is a good game. WAY better than Slender: The Eight Pages.

I'm extremely curious as to what this is all about.
EDIT: Just looked it up.
Not happening.
Not tonight.

Anyone hear heard of Huntsman: The Orphanage yet?
It was originally a Slender-man game on Steam Greenlight, but I guess Steam blocked it due to copyright concerns, so they've been retooling it with "The Huntsman", their interpretation of The Plague Doctor. The use of the phone and distortion in it as a gameplay device seems to be a carry over from the Slenderman version, but I really like the concept of bits of the past showing up in the distortions. Still, very little gameplay has been shown... what do you guys think of this?

It actually looks really interesting, and fun. I really want it to be released soon so I can play it.
On a side note, I'm probably going to be doing a commentary video for Imscared sometime tonight.
EDIT: So I misspelled the "Slender" in "Slendernation" in my address bar on my browser, and got this.
