I wonder if these will be old tapes but shot recently or old tapes, actually shot during season 1?

Or perhaps these aren't even Alex's tapes.

I think it is very possible that these tapes have some very scary stuff on them, probably more in-depth encounters with the Operator. Maybe one of them is also the continuation of where that one video left off, where Alex approached the Operator yelling, "Hey! Buddy!" It'd be interesting to see what happened after that.

Two things crossed my mind immediately:

1) How did the melted tapes last so long?
2)What made Alex go from burning the tapes to half-ass melting them?

Well, I guess the answer to 1) is that plastic doesn't break down, and those little fuckers would be there pretty much until a forest fire finished Alex's horrid job of burning them.

Now I'm prepared for a few weeks of waiting for another entry while Jay tweets about how he's somhow getting the data off of melted tape

Old tapes from the Marble Hornets production? My my, that opens up some interesting possibilities. Let's hope for some crazy footage.

It might take a while though. If the tapes been exposed to the elements for such a long time, it maybe hard or impossible to extract the footage.
