An OOC note from Si vis pacem, para bellum

Today, I had heard that a good friend of mine got into a really bad accident last night. He was rushed to the emergency room, but he wasn't breathing and his brain wasn't responding. He was hooked up to a machine, and the doctors planned a test for this morning to briefly let him off the machine to see if his brain would start working. Or something like that. I can't remember all the medical details.

They did the test this morning, and it failed. Later on, he was pronounced brain dead.

So, in light of this, I just wanted you guys to know that I will not be posting in either Si vis pacem, para bellum or The Cataloger for a little while. At the most, it'll probably be a week. I may or may not respond to comments, depending on how I feel. I just wanted to reassure you that, for those of you following Si vis pacem, para bellum, that this isn't the end; I just need a little time off.

There's really not much that we can say to help it. Neither the fact that he's gone nor the feelings that invokes.

The only thing I think I can say name of us all is that whenever you need a place where people welcome you with warm hugs and friendly words, where they listen and talk to you with sympathy and where they just plainly give you some affection and attention whenever you need it, you will find it here. We all hold our arms and ears open for you when you need them. I don't know what more to say or to give than that, but yeah - come around anytime you want.

Oh Scott, honey, I'm so sorry. If there's anything we can do for you, just ask. But don't worry about anything, take as much time as you want. We're here for you should you ever need us. We feel for you.

I'm so sorry, Scott. If it helps, he's in a better place. There's really not much else I can say, except that I really am sorry for your loss.

You have my utmost sympathies and I am truly sorry, I know what it's like to loose a friend and it's a feeling I wouldn't want anyone to go through. I hope you can get through this well.

The funeral service happened tonight. Si vis pacem, para bellum will be coming back either tomorrow or Saturday. Also, if the person who runs Observe and Terminate is on this forum and reads this message, could you please send me a PM? I'll need to know if the next update is going to affect my character or not, so I'll know whether or not I can post.
