| Some people don't have the budget, have conflicting schedules with others, or simply enough people who can act in a series. So I was thinking; could someone manage to pull off playing a lone character against whatever story plot is against them on their own, or should it be absolutely necessary to involve other people to make a series good? Could/should there be ways around the lack of other physical faces? Perhaps another channel or someone always in the shadows that lurks as an antagonist against the main character? Or what of slenderman himself? Could a prop make a successful substitute or should there someone behind a mask to breathe life and a very small amount of movement into Mr. Tall Dark and Slender? If you answered yes to any of the above, comments? How do you think this could be pulled off? How would you want to see this be pulled off? | |

| I'm very sure you can pull off a solo series. It might take more effort, but it's very doable. You could make up for the lack of other characters by including other story elements. Include more personal interaction to make up for character interaction. You could also interact with the audience.
As for Slendy himself, I know of a few series (including mine) that have used dummies. If you can find a way to make it work, there's nothing wrong with using a Slenderman dummy. If you do get any willing friends available to help you, having someone play the part every once in a while is a good supplement.
Just make sure you plan out your story, and that it's something that you can make work with a smaller budget and limited cast. All in all, I'd say go for it!

That actually gives me an idea flood. I'm unfortunate to be dirt poor and have maybe one other person who can act, so I'm fitting into this target of topic here. But I really did genuinely want to know what people thought of these kinds of series, completely disregarding me wanting to do one. Probably never going to become a thing anyways.I know there's at least a couple that exist out there already that are soloed, I just forget the names or...anything about them. So, I am wondering if it's just me or if having a cast of colorful characters is more appealing than just one person.

| I'd love to see a solo series, particularly one from the perspective of someone aligned to the Slenderman as opposed to the traditional "leave me alone pl0x Slendy". | |

I like the sound of this. I was talking to a friend about this the other day that made me want to ask for clarification; Would you want to see the character knowingly or unknowingly be aligned with Slenderman? Personally, I like the latter.~ Unknowingly doing exactly what Slenderman wants them to, whatever that is.

| I like the former, personally, as I think it has more capacity for being completely sinister. The eeriness is one of my favourite features of vlogs. | |

| Yeah that would be pretty nifty to do. Difficult, I think, seeing as how the entire air of scary around slenderman and his proxies is the unknown. (Or st least that's as how I've come to know it as) unless things have changed on me (which it likely has) you either don't know what they are after exactly, or it's so terrifyingly vague there's too many possibilities.
But I am growing partial to the idea of these series only serving to draw more people in. You watch these series, you become marked and eventually slenderman comes for you or you become a proxy, or something. Whatever happens, your life takes a ride on a roller coaster into a toilet with no way to get off the ride once you're on it.
What of something like someone playing for just that? Draw more people in, ect. Personally that's as far as I'd be willing to go for a main character. Some two faced asshat who wants to fubar everything and probably does because of all the people that watch. i kindof had an idea similar to that but....more detailed and more interesting than I am making it sound. To me, I feel something would be lost if you have someone so blatantly be the villain. A story needs conflict after all. Unless this turned into a 'audience stops the villain' kind of thing. Which....could be fun now that I think of that. Ovo
...oh look I rambled oops. Thinking aloud.

| It's very possible, a bit difficult but still possible. You'd need to know about special effects and at least get a dummy or a program for Slender Man. I think it's very possible to make a vlog series alone, it'd be difficult unless the plot didn't require any other characters.
Though I personally think it would be easier to just make a blog series. I'm even considering that, it's seems much easier. But if you wanna make a solo series then go for it, it's very much possible.

| I tried this for a time. It was hard as hell and honestly, it doesn't pay off. With being alone you are stuck with only having one person on screen the whole time. Then its hard to set up shots and everything and you need tripods and its just a fucking hassle. Unless you are doing found footage, then you have a whole other list of BS to deal with. Most of your shots, hell, all of em I am sure. Will just be of the world around you. The woods, your house, etc. It is going to be of the world. Also, you have no character for which the main character can interact with. Which.. can really limit a story.
Here is my suggestion.
You need to make an interesting and intriguing world for your character to roam around in.
One a lot of people haven't seen. Something new and awesome. Then you can work around your no characters thing by having it all be you and your journey through whatever crazy world you can make up.
It's going to take a lot of work.
But its better then the typical solo running in the woods series.
Also, you may just need a friend to help with BTS stuff.
Personally I use a crew of like 5 people on shoots.
But hey, I hope it helped.
A solo series can be done, but it has to be good.

| Personally, I found it extremely difficult being the only person in my vlog. I tried to incorporate other characters (all played by me) iy wasn't easy. Being Slender Man was the hardest though. - Spoiler:
I put on an ill fitting suit blazer, wrapped a whie tank top over my face and stood on a chair. If I had to talk as my chacter while i was Slendy, I'd usually looks away from the camera.
In short, soloing is a lot harder than not soloing. But that's just my opinion.

| It's possible, but very difficult. I know because I've been doing my series solo ever since I started it. If you have a story that can be tweaked so you can be main character, have this story be original and interesting, have a good effects and editing program, and lots of free time, then you potentially pull off a good solo series. Going solo doesn't come with consequences though. For me, there are lots of scheduling conflicts that put me behind in my series. I've had to rewrite parts of the story because of this. There's other problems that can get in the way of course. If you do solo a series, then I wish you luck. | |
