PostSubject: I'm kind of glad this site is dead now   Thu Mar 24, 2016 11:47 pm

Nearly a year ago I posted a thread about the Slenderverse dying, and although many disagreed, they can't disagree now. I am the only user to log in within the last 24 hours.

I was thirteen years old (2011, my first account was banned) when I first joined these forums and back then the Slenderman fandom was really taking off. We had MarbleHornets and Tribetwelve leading the way, and these forums brought attention to so many more blogs and vlogs out there. We had people like Zander and The Doctor to look up to and guide us on our journeys on this website.
Unfortunately, with great experiences comes great drama. This site got wave after wave of giant drama fests and it scared a lot of people away. We had moderators getting banned, unfair judgements being made, people bringing slander from Skype onto here, and the cruel attitudes were growing by the day. SlenderNation was the cause of it's own downfall by the end of it all. What used to be a place where people openly spoke their opinions, became a place to discuss vlogs and new MarbleHornets episodes. Discussion ceased and the good guys left.
With Slendernation out of the picture, Slenderman began to fade too. No more was he all over the place and no more would someone hear a conversation about him in public. Slenderman is dead, and we are partly why.
All that Slenderman is now, is a misunderstood Creepypasta monster that makes love to "Ben Drowned" and "Jeff the Killer". I'd cry if I didn't already know this was coming.

Rest well, Slenderverse. Thank you for the fond memories.

I agree, great drama did rear its ugly head, and it tore a lot of us apart. While I'm glad for the respite (let's face it, Slendy took a beating with the flood of content, and not always good) I do feel that a resurgence is welcome at this point.

I've been away for quite some time now... Must have missed all this. Is the site really dead now? :/ I've still been so interested in Slender.

Yeah I've got some pretty good memories of this place. I'd say Slendy lasted way longer than I thought he would though, I mean I never would've thought Tribe Twelve and EMH would still be going this many years later. It's been a pretty good run and I always like checking back here for the yearly TT video.
