| Well no, not really, but today might still be a grim day. I just thought this would be of interest to you all in regards to some OOG things that might effect TribeTwelve. I dunno if he posted any of this on twitter or any of the other things of his I don't follow, but on TheNimbus(AKA Adam/Noah/Foliage Stabber Extraordinaire)'s deviantart, he posted a journal that reads as follows: - Quote :
- Well, my computer died. The hard drive seems to have failed somehow and I
lost a lot of recent work. And it happened just as finals were
starting. Hooray. Recent as in from the past several months. The main
problem is that I procrastinated and didn't back up my work, forgetting
that a hard drive crash could occur at any time. I called up India and
they sent me a new hard drive, but there's a problem. I have very
important data on my hard drive, data essential for the continuation of
TribeTwelve. I need that data VERY MUCH. So, they are sending me a
special USB cord that sill attach to my old hard drive and turn it into a
sort of external hard drive so I can transfer my data to the new hard
drive in my computer. So, I am waiting for this magical cord. The guy
said I had a 50/50 chance of getting it back, so pray for my data guys.
The future of TribeTwelve depends on its safe recovery and return.

That said, I'm pretty sure he'll be able to recover his data. You pretty much have to physically destroy a hard drive or take a magnet to it for it to be completely ruined. | |

The problem is, I got the replacement hard drive for free. So, if the cord doesn't work, I'm going to have to either fess up $200 or so to pay for the drive or give the company back my old drive as compensation. And that doesn't factor in the potential $1000 or so I'll have to pay to get my data back from one of those data recovery services. So, pray that the USB cable works.  | |
