A Slender Man Poem

Post by WhiteWolf on Sun Apr 17, 2011 12:34 pm

I took a poetry class last quarter, so lately I been feeling more confident about my skills in the genre. I wrote a poem about Slender Man last night, and I'd like to get y'all opinion on it. It's mostly inspired/a homage to Marble Hornets. Praise and/or constructive criticisim is encouraged.

Lakes in Stillness will Take Every Life of the Night
During the dead of winter
The fog rolls in to fill the void
Revealing the insubstantial world
Its true nature

LISTEN for the Operator
He watches and knows
Through that marble slate we recognize

He blends well with his barren brothers
Black bark turned to cloth of a suit
To hide his cunning from the innocent

He’ll take your mind before anything else
The truest of thieves in the night
So record for the unhinged memory
The eye of a camera’s inalterable

Is he still there? Yes
He’s come to play with us

Regards

I think it's great, sis. But then, you DID show to me before you posted it, so you already know what I think.

I DEMAND THE REST OF YOU TO GIVE HER PRAISE!

Nicely done....And whilst i am in the company of wolves and poetry...

*Clears throat"

There once was a skinny old Slender Man
who lived in a bent up old spinach can
Unlike dear old Popeye
He would live like a spy
And get drunk whilst sipping an Evian

I expect no cheers, not my best.
