| So some of the creators were talking the other day and someone asked what the ten most notable blogs were. From there, the topic sort of shifted to what the most influential blogs were. So I'd like to see what you all think the ten most influential Slenderblogs were, and why you think they deserve that spot? Don't have to be in any particular order. I'm doing mine in order, though.
10. H(a)unting: While there were gamejackers and trolls before, H(a)unting was the first actual canonized blog that was...well, less than universally accepted as canon. H(a)unting is responsible for wifin', and allowed the floodgates to open.
9. A Really Bad Joke: A Really Bad Joke has always walked a fine line. In-character, Maduin is wifin'. As a blog, though, it's mostly serious, and it retains the fear. ARBJ showed that it was possible to have an amusing story that's also terrifying.
8. Just Another Fool: The first Slenderblog. Enough said. It's this low because it didn't really add anything--it just sort of kicked off the idea of Slenderblogs in the first place.
7. A hint of serendipity: This blog is partially responsible for the greater emphasis on characters in the mythos. It's also partially responsible for much of the connectivity and forming of an actual 'Verse. But the most important part of this blog was that it showed how much impact readers had on the story. Zero never asked for the title from Robert. He never knew what would happen with Nessa. Zero became the master at adapting to the events in the blogosphere.
6. Enter Light: Enter Light was a large player in the connectivity/formation of a 'Verse, and also influenced the rise of proxies as her proxification inspired others to start dealing with the same thing.
5. What You Are In The Dark: this blog is what defined the chaotic mess that proxies had become. Not all of the terms caught on, but it was the first blog to really look at the other side of the war. In addition, it also helped inspire more in-game real-life meetups, where correspondence, even in-game, had mostly been online.
4. Seeking Truth: I'd mark this blog as the blog that brought hope into the mythos. Zeke Strahm was a badass who was determined to fight the Slender Man and survive. Anyone who considers themselves a "Fighter" has Seeking Truth to thank.
3. White Elephants: Core Theory. An actual, thought out theory of how the Slender Man could be defeated. The casting of people in roles and bringing a certain connectedness to the mythos. Fucking Redlight. There's really not much to say other than that White Elephants brought a LOT to the table.
2. Dreams in Darkness: This blog didn't really add a ton to the mythos (aside from split personalities), and it wasn't even the first blog to have an actual story. However, it was incredibly well-written, perfectly paced, and starred a very relatable protagonist, and in my opinion, is the best example of how a Slenderblog should be written.
1. The Tutorial: Inspired the concept of runners and people who could actually survive and fight this without going crazy. M had a HUGE impact on the mythos. Maybe it wasn't always the best one (and I still don't see why people link to his outdated rules), but it was a huge one. Even after months of inactivity, he remained a big name just because The Tutorial was where people went to plug. It's the only one of the Big Four that's still running (The Mystic not really counting), and it's managed to stay relatively popular, Seinfeld is Unfunny notwithstanding.
Those are my top ten, with a grudging honorable mention to Encyclopedia Slenderia for being the most popular (probably also the first, but I think all three of the main informablogs started within a month or two of each other) informative blog. It involved a lot of interaction with other blogs and managed to become a valuable addition to the mythos as a result.

| I've never heard of Enter Light and for that reason only I'd switch it out with Walking the Hollowed Halls. The beginning has similarities to WYAITD only because of the working for Slender Man factor and I think the writing is just amazing.
Scratch that, just realized Enter the Light was Nessa's blog. Was before my time and I never got to read it. Had no idea that was the title.

Otherwise, I agree with everything here.

Just sayin'. | |

Otherwise, I agree with everything here. Did you pioneer the Slendercult? I think I've seen that elsewhere.

| In my defense, it was hard to solidly place a lot of these, and is by no means an actual "MY WORD IS LAW" list. You think I'm wrong? Make one yourself! I'd love to see it!
And yes, Damien, you ARE influential. Believe it or not, you've inspired a lot of the structure for blogs and set or reinforced most of the blog tropes. Admittedly, ARBJ is probably the blog on there that's inspired the least, and it should maybe be the honorable mention instead of number 9, but I really couldn't think of anything else influential enough to put in its place.

Just sayin'. Note that he never said anywhere that influential means good or beneficial to the mythos. H(a)unting is on the list, for crissakes. I retain my right to be ashamed of what I wrote. And subsequently deleted. |

Otherwise, I agree with everything here. You put out at a time when the verse was seriously blueballing, you deserve the number 2.

| I've been out of it for long enough that the only thing I'd be able to write on a list is Just Another Fool, Dreams in Darkness (which I don't recall reading much of, at the time), Seeking Truth and, uh. Errr. The Tutorial, maybe.
There is a merciful lack of my rubbish on this list, though.
