New Video Posted

The new video December and early Janurary was just posted.



Thoughts? This is the first video since Damsel was sprung free to have been posted and I was impressed by it. Stephanie's acting is much more tolerable then Jessica (MH Version), so there is bonus points in that. And I actually did get quiet a shiver when the voicemail was played. Though, they seem to have given up on their tangled plot and have attached to her storyline.

Slenderman at 4:31, obviously, plus there seems to be a lot of skipping around, making me believe this is uploaded without their knowledge. That, and, no tweet confirming the upload, leaves me a little suspect.

The voicemail was definitely the highlight, though. And it's glad to see HYBRID back on the Tubes. I'm wondering if the holidays slowing down will allow a good release schedule. I'm also kind of hoping we get the Seven Trials of HABIT more integrated into the video fiction.

Yeah, I thought this one was pretty good. It's funny how she was in an institution (if I'm not mistaken?) but she seems so down to earth. Hopefully they'll have more videos like this.

Like they said, blackwolf, she didn't belong there.

However, it just kind of sucks that they can't do much about their problems with Slenderman. Yes, being helpless is scary, but where exactly does the story go from here? Cower and wait to die, futilely try anything they can think of? In any case it will just mean they're screwed. There's no surprises.

It's not that I don't think that they can pull a good story from here, but it is going to be difficult.

Damsel also mentioned in the video "Damsel" that she was being released from the institution the very day that they came to spring her.

The hospital fire.wmv also mentions that the room Damsel was in, when they rescued her, didn't exist anymore. It'd been burned down and cordoned off years prior.

Fucking miracles.

Could that blood maybe have been Jessa's. Or if it really was the cat slendy could have gone back in time, gotten the recently dead cat, then dismembered him in the present to fuck with Vince.

Eh, Jeff wrote a little blurb in the description, so I'm pretty sure he knew it was being uploaded.

Yeah, I went back to YouTube to watch the video; Originally saw it embedded, so couldn't see the description.

I'm kind of unsure as to what i thought of this video. Ive always loved EMH becuase they didn't do the "we gotta run" approach to slendy, but, i guess i had just hoped for more of a exciting video after the wait. Voicemail is highlight, and i feel like them wandering around to resteraunts and stuff after breaking damsel out just kills the enviroment a bit

I'm pretty fond of HYBRID's relaxing/chilling out videos, plus I thought after all that happened and in footage that likely would've been taking place around the holidays, them being kind of relaxed was a nice thing to see. The voicemail works because it gives a sense of foreboding. Slenderman might not be around (mostly), but what he's DONE to you isn't going away.

Yeah, it's funny how they seem to be holding up with the whole Slender-stalking. They keep their sanity better than most.

It isn't the relaxing par that bugs me, its the fact that they "broke the law" and decide to just go out to eat and such

That's a thought; wouldn't the police be looking for her?

Or relatives or something? Seriously, there has to be someone out there who she has connections to looking for her.

I also agree with you TripleD, shouldn't they be more haggard by what has been happening to them?

I think they got to the point where they're just like: "Okay, it's happening... Now what do we do?"

Well, the only thing I can really think of is one of two things:

1) They start the 'forgetting' process where they put the Slendy stuff down and walk away with the hope that Slendy'll lay of,

or

2) A slow descent into madness as each are picked off, one by one.

Or Evan assballs into HABIT and becomes an antagonist.

Something I found that was a bit of an "oooh, spooky" coincedince. It's completely impossible for the crew to have done, but I thought it was mildly interesting. (image)

It almost looks like there's some weird writing to the right of the highlighted trees, as well.

About the video, first off, as my dad always says "Don't say what your audience is thinking! Don't!" If your plot is confusing and your characters are confused, well, that's just discouraging to the rest of us.

Now my little Film Critic has had it's bit, I... honestly don't know how to feel about the new video. It doesn't really add anything except creepy noises and that the guys are as in the dark as we are. But we've known that they're as in the dark as we are. And we know they hear creepy noises. This seems more like filler, or twitter material. Which is frustrating.

But seriously, did you guys realize that nature dies in the Winter? That is goes from lush green in the Summer to all dead in the Winter months? I mean, baffling! If anyone has any sort of insight into this strange occurrence, they might want to tell the boys.




I like the quick flashbacks and it was great thinking ahead. it really has a visual impact when you place the Summer landscape right next to the Winter landscape in such a wild area, but that is to be said about any landscape in a Summer vs. Winter shot. And what exactly was the point of going to the tree? Why go back at all? It is pointless. Fun to watch, but still pointless.

I was going to point out the sirens in the background until the video did it for me.

I don't know if I really view this as filler, more of a statement on how everyone is feeling. It does not progress the plot, no, but can be viewed as an "we are soooo fucked, man" clip. The going around in circles is somehow meant to represent the overall feeling of doom, which is quite different from the "we're gonna kick names and take ass" attitude from previous episodes. Damsel told them she didn't think that Slendy could be stopped; this is the others adjusting to that train of thought.

Also, on the matter of Spring vs. Winter, Winter turns to Spring again. Yes, they're hopeless now but this could be foreshadowing a return to previous times in the future.

I thought the spring/winter motif symbolized about how their hopes had died. Sirens=impending disaster? But I can't say for sure. Did they report Jessa's death/disappearance in one of the blogs?
