| Very recently during my first arc of my blog another guy pretty much came in and pretty much killed my first real threat and the main plot point. Thankfully I bounced back from it and made my story a lot bigger then I thought it would be.
Does anyone else here have a story of something like that happening to them?

| 1. Made the first video in my series, which starts off as a vlog. 2. All goes smoothly until the third vlog entry, where 3. A comment pops up on Vlog #1 "is this a slenderman series". 4. | |

| With blogs, there is a really easy solution: moderate comments. Don't allow the ones that will interfere in your plotline to go through. | |

| I suppose you are right but I like to think are slenderblogs are connected even by the thinnest threading in existence. Just deleting something is like saying 'no I will not be connect to a landmass I want an island'.
Disclaimer: These are my thoughts and should not be taken out of context as an attack on anyone else who makes a blog completely separate of the community at large.

| Well if you're working entirely under the assumption that anything that happens elsewhere in the 'verse is canon, you're going to have a rough time. Not only does this mean you're pretty much gonna have to read all the blogs, but it also means you can't really have your own plot since you need to accommodate for other people.
If someone is directly trying to influence your plot, that's called "gamejacking," and is a form of what we in the business like to call wifin'. It appears that you have been gamejacked, to an extent. However, you could simply ignore the comment or protest the truth of it.
After all, that's what I did when you attempted to gamejack the Messenger, asking him to change his entire characterization just so you could have an ally. And then when you were told no, you persisted, insisting that "people always change."
So I guess I'm not really feeling too bad about that.
But back on topic, I've had comments flat-out telling me that my major antagonists are dead, comments linking to lemonparty, comments making slash fantasies about my characters, and then continuing to turn my entire blog into an orgy. Not one of those things affected my story. It's really not that difficult to pick and choose.

| 1. Moderate comments. 2. Find interesting or witty ways to deal with either gamejacking or just people oversharing information your characters aren't meant to have yet.
That's what I do, anyway.

It's still your story though. You can allow for the possibility of people adding to your work but if something is going to screw up your story, the way you wanna tel your story, etc, then yes of course you have every right to ignore it.

| I have to agree with everyone else. Moderation of comments is definitely an important aspect. It keeps out the individuals that are trying to cause problems for you while at the same time, allows individuals that want to sincerely contribute the chance to do so.
Of course as already stated, in the end you are the writer of your blog, it's your story so you take it where you want. If other people don't like the direction then that's their choice, but would you rather have something you enjoy writing or something that you have to revise over and over because some person thought your ideas were stupid?
