I dunno, just the fact that it's a proxy playing a game with people and he's *using clips of a literal cat and mouse game* is eating at me. It's just creepy. XD

I've never been so scared by a Slendy series as I was when the music stopped and he was all "Time to Play a Game." 8(
Dah heck...

Tom (who im going to presume is representing slendy in the "cat and mouse" deal) is getting his arse handed to him in these, often by turning his own strength against him.
So I wonder if this is implying a way to manipulate el slondo's strength to hold him off or take him out.

That's an interesting theory, actually, and it makes sense... if this Proxy's trying to get these folks away from Slendy and isn't trying to cause bigger problems.
It all also makes sense in terms of the Aesop Fables - is s/he trying to imply that these kids, these players in this game, can be free, but that they don't necessarily have to be the most aggressive, the strongest, or the bravest, just the smartest?

If this guy is trying to get people away from slendy, rather than aiding slendy, they arent a proxy. A proxy is a direct servant. Keep that in mind

I am, which leads me to wonder why Aesop Guy is contacting people like he is one, or at least is commenting in the style of one...

There is no general proxy style. Just individuals who communicate unusually. Though I cant think of a single decent reason why they talk that way and I doubt we're going to get one.
it's a fairly overused trope by this point and I dont like it

I'm gonna have to agree with you on that point, but it's almost become canon that Slender Man generally recruits servants.

Honestly, I also agree, and would really rather see Slendy ride solo because it's more interesting to me that way, but sethlapod's right too. It's kind of part of the Mythos now, and just because it's an overused trope doesn't mean that everyone feels it's overused. Remember, Tropes Are Not Bad. They're just tools.
I'm thinking if this series IS going for that sort of vibe though, it could be explained in-game as a way to keep Slendy off his case. After all, if he thinks the guy is on his side, he might not necessarily attack them. Or he may, I dunno. It was just a theory and it's too early in the series to say much of anything either way about what's really going on yet.

I think what's missing from this trope is originality, uniqueness. It's not that the trope is overused, but rather it's elements. And I think that this series is pulling off the uniqueness part.

Wherein we meet the third candidate and find out that he is already a target of the Slender Man.

Crossover? :3 I'll keep an eye on both channels...
"Little friends may prove great friends" hm? I wonder if they'll have to all work together. Note that two of the candidates in this "game" are apparently children, and this third candidate looks older.
Oh, very clever. Bring them all together, let them form relationships and bonds... and then tear them apart. No easier way to break a person than to give them something to keep them sane in a time of darkness, and then take it away just as easily. You sick bastard.

First riddle. Anyone got an answer?
Also, what is that noise in the beginning? Just random static, or does it hold some meaning to it?

Oh I love riddles!
"I'm tall in the morning, then I shrink, and in the evening I grow again." I actually know this one.
Spoiler:
It's a shadow of something as the day goes by. It starts out long, since the sun's low in the sky and casts its light at an acute angle to the object, making the shadow look really tall. Then it becomes shorter as the sun approaches noon, and at midday you have no shadow. Then as the sun sets, the shadow grows longer again.
I'm a genius. ^w^
I'm forced to assume that random static is the sound of an old dial-up modem. XD

Come on, nameless Proxy-like character whom I guess I'll just call AESOP because it's as good as anything else, you HAVE to give us tougher riddles than this. XD

Yeah, I feel that most people already know that riddle. He (or she... or it) should have come up with their own riddle.

Chris, the kid with the terrible grammar and lime green on white text, has responded:
Why do I have a horrible feeling something's getting subverted here, and hard? Or there's some twist here? There's gotta be something deeper here that will be revealed later... I just have this weird feeling...

... Well that was certainly more cryptic?
Spoiler:
How much you wanna bet one contestant here's going to answer with the name of a deity? That or the answer is Slenderman - sorry, I mean THE GIANT. Or something close.

Spoiler:
Could it be love? As in like a father's or mother's love for their children?
That somehow seems too fluffy an answer for a series set in a universe this dark.

Spoiler:
I feel like it could be a lot of things, like say this was a religious type of video series, it could be a number of things like God, the Devil, demons, angels, or something along the lines of that. But I highly doubt that.
On the other hand, it could be something like your subconscious, even though that is a part of you and not really there for you per se, but I don't know.
I feel as if there would be quite a few answers that would 'fit' but not necessarily be what is being looked for.....
