A thread discussing your favourite prog rock songs, bands, etc.

Personally, I can list about five bands I can listen to all day.

Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Yes, Mike Oldfield, Caravan.

What do you guys like.

As of favourite songs, Musical Box, Supper's Ready, Time, Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb, Bungle in the Jungle, Hunting Girl, Close to the Edge, Siberian Khatru, Tubular Bells, Ommadawn, Taurus III, Golf Girl, Winter Wine, Love To Love You...

Progressive Rock is like British bands right? Sorry, I love Classic Rock, I am just not familiar with the term... (I feel stupid)

Well, Prog Rock is very popular in UK artists, but it's not necessarily a UK thing. Prog Rock is a genre that consists of many kinds of experimentation in songwriting, such as changing time signatures and switching styles of playing. The song pretty much "progresses" as you listen.

As for my favorite Progressive Rock band, I'm gonna have to go with Rush.

They're lyrics are so meaningful, and I just feel the pure essence of Rock 'n' Roll in every one of their songs.

Ok. So for me it is definitely The Rolling Stones. I was lucky enough to see them live! It was the greatest experience of my LIFE!

I don't think the Rolling Stones would necessarily qualify as Prog Rock. Here's a more accurate definition:
