I will never understand why people claim Evangelion is confusing/convoluted. I thought the plot was pretty simple and straightforward.

I will never understand why people claim Evangelion is confusing/convoluted. I thought the plot was pretty simple and straightforward. I'm referring more to the end, when the characters decide that the most important thing to do is to provide Freudian analyses of themselves and then spend the last two episodes contemplating their recycled footage. The basic plot is straightforward enough. But if you say that you understood absolutely everything about it the first time through, you are lying. Just like with Homestuck.

Just like with Homestuck. Nahp. Ah ahm naht lahehn'. Did you watch "End of Evangelion"? Because with that added on, it most certainly did not end with Freudian analysis and recycled footage. It ended with Freudian analysis and everyone turning into Tang. Managed to keep up with Homestuck as well, but that's only because I'm really good with following timey wimey, complicated plots. Still wasn't able to keep track of everything (as demonstrated on this very thread), but I followed all the major plot points without having to read any of the summaries.

| well let's remember, iirc, that EoE's creator had a huge freaking breakdown too. and AH is sane so far we know, so who really is the more convoluted? | |

| ANYWAY interrupting this conversation, I present you all with, SKAIANETFor those of you unfamiliar with this site, it is an imageboard created specifically for Homestuck images. Think Deviant-art, but with much higher quality art. Naturally, this site is filled with SPOILERS, so don't go there if you're not caught up! | |

There are at least five timelines (the Sburb timeline, the Sgrub timeline, the Sburb Exiles, the Sgrub Exiles, and the Doc Scratch timeline which actually seems like it's just completely outside of time altogether) that all interact to some extent and there's time loops and alternate timelines WITHIN those timelines. I think that at this point, AH is the only one who understands all of what's going on. (Derp, first sentence redacted for redundancy). Seems like the ancestors are becoming a bit more important too. I've never had a problem with the timeline stuff, it's keeping up with all the characters and their names that I had a hard time with at first.
About the latest pages, - Spoiler:
the only thing I'm a bit confused about is whether or not the Aradia with Doc scratch in the most recent updates is "our" Aradia, her ancestor, or an Aradia from an alternate timeline. I thought she was the ancestor, but maybe not? (Wasn't going to spoiler since this is, y'know, the discussion thread, but I guess it would be better if it was. /shrug)
And thanks for that link nelsonnizzy! Been meaning to check that out for a while.

| Miz: - Spoiler:
It's Aradia's ancestor, not the real Aradia being held hostage by Scratch.

| Ok, thank you Wintermarch. That's what I thought when I first read it, but people online seemed incredibly confused about it... for some reason. Kind of threw me off cuz I didn't know if I had missed something. | |

| Almost. There. ALMOST. THERE.
I just started the intermission today. I VOW TO FINISH IT TONIGHT. I VOW IT. And at least get the beginning of Act 4 done. I can't believe I've already been reading for 2 weeks and still haven't acomplished to get even half-way there. Damn Hussie's walls of text and 5 minute flashes. And dear gog do I love the Midnight Crew. I actually found the song "I'm A Member of the Midnight Crew" before I even knew that it was actually IN Homestuck, Ironically.

| Those pins are adorable. Why must I like every troll? Why?! Well, except maybe Eq. He kind of creeps me out a little. (No offense to Equius fans, just the whole "sweat" thing. And that blatant SadoMaso thing he has going on, which is actually amusing.) But I'd drive myself crazy trying to pick one! Let alone a T-shirt.
(Also, a litte off-topic and very silly. But if eating chicken nuggets makes Tavros a cannibal, does it make Karkat a cannibal if he eats a Kitkat? Because that is my unarguable headcanon now.)

| Hero of Time for me, While Karkat is my favorite troll, I always felt somehow that if I were playing this, like as an RPG, that Aradia would be my troll of choice. | |
