OH MY FUCKING GOD, OH MY FUCKING GOD, I WAS HERE FOR THIS.
And it was...eh.
When I see Alex Kralie in the woods, generally I assume there's gonna be some gratuitous Rock Smashing/Operator sightings/Jayrape but the story was creepy and I think it's the first indication of any kind of backstory in relation to the Operator. Also, when Alex is all "come closer here", yeah...my mind went places. Fuck, I need my fanfic fix so badly.
And also. Um. Drawing wilde conclusions here but it's pretty clear Sleepy!Jay did post #37. And if he thinks the same person that posted 37 posted multipound, then woudn't that make TTA=Jay himself?
idk, I was hoping for something Earth-shattering here today but I can't complain. It seemed like Jay would be more concerned with figuring out how he wound up back at the tower than posting something like this. But it is Alex's (belated) birthday so.

So uh, yeah... Aside from that OMFG BACKSTORY ALL UP IN MY GRILL.
And yeah, creepy woods with burnt bodies of dead criminals and a child much? I THINK SO.

So we finally have an idea about MH's Slender Man's nature. That, or pretty effective atmosphere building.

This was done to meany people. All these evil people were stretched out, died up and then BURNT with the trees they were strapped to.
This could mean that The Operator is a vengeful collective rather than a single spirit (if he is this at all).
I wonder what kind of people thought that was a fitting punishment, though, that story made me creeped out by people. Again.

Hmmm, nothing like human nature: taking a blessed land and rotting it with burning corpses.
On a more upbeat note, I am REALLY enjoying MH's new pacing. Yes, Jay seems calm about enttry 37, but I could also see how uneventful that may be in his eyes. Obviously he is more concerned about Alex and his missing seven months, plus with the traumatic level of events he has endured, it would take much more than a youtube hack to shock him.

I REALLY HOPE IT ISN'T THIS!
That just kills the vibe for me, makes it feel really cliche in my mind. I feel it was just meant to be a reference to the original stories about him and children. Perhaps slenderman is drawn to areas of death or tragedy, which is why he was in the woods those deaths were happening or something?
I don't know, but i enjoyed the entry overall, although it still hurts me on the inside we haven't had a true blue spotting of slenderman yet.

A bit clichéd since Freddy, but creepy enough and not a bad origin story at all - and since it has started about 200 years ago, we can definitely tell that the Operator is a universal thing, not an "Alex and friends"-exclusive stalker which is a theory most of us didn't like I guess.

In agreement with the microwavable Man-o-war..When I was listening to the story, that Alex was telling, Freddy kept leaping to mind.
Hate to be a bit of a bore when saying it, I also have turned towards the cliche on these here boards, as long as they can do something original with that cliche then all shall be well.
Sadly every story that needs to be told has already been told, anything original becomes a cliche the moment it is first used. The idea is to spice it up a little. Throw in a few herbs, a little curry powder, a few chillies and add a little something unexpected.
The way I would work this would be to use the "story" as a red herring. Many of us have said that the thing that makes Slender Man work is the lack of what we know of him, though we do like a bone thrown our way every now and then.
Maybe in this case Slender man is more than just a collective of dead pedo's and insane imaginings from our heroes. Some things are best left for the imagination.

I don't think this was the Operator's origin story, at least not the whole thing. There's too much that hasn't been accounted for, and vengeful spirits of executed criminals really does seem a tad cliche for these guys. So does dumping a bunch of exposition on us with no strings attached, for that matter. I'm thinking there's more to it.
In other words, Alex might be... *puts on shades* ...barking up the wrong tree. YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

I don't exactly like The Operator having much of a backstory, I mean technically he isn't The Slender Man so they're two completely different entities, but it ruins it a bit for me. As for the story though pretty much what Sach said. There's still a shitload unaccounted for because the tape ended in the middle of it. For all we know this may be going into something completely different.

Try this on, this is me last night:
In a house other than my own, far outside the safety of the city. Our closest neighbor is a couple horses 10 acres away. Fucking forest everywhere, ya'll I am in the mountains. I am a valley girl. I am already on edge.
Approx. 11:30pm- Going to sleep. My current job requires me to get up at around 5:45am. Don't like my room. Too bare. Windows everywhere and this is my headboard. Yeah, a gnarly looking log that I swear to fuck looks like it is bleeding at night/lowlight. Anyway, snuggling up, just about to fall asleep when I hear one of the curtains moving. Ok, I left one of the windows open a bit. I always do, too claustrophobic otherwise.
Approx. 11:34pm- I hear, from the darkness a long, drawn-out moaning howl. One low one, then a bit louder then the last was either louder or closer then the last. I am holding my breath thinking WHATTHEFUCKWASTHATWHATTHEFUCKWASTHATWHATTHEFUCKWASTHAT. Silence. No one else in the house noticed it.
11:35pm- Nearly piss myself because my friend texts me to ask me "I never thought to ask you, but what do you think Slender Man is?" Through labored breathing and somehow managing to grow an extra foot of arm length to turn on the light without getting out of bed, I ask her why the fuck she is randomly asking me this. "New MH video, didn't you know?"
11:36pm-5:45am- Every noise is Slender Man coming to kill me and the headboard is his accomplice... Why? Cause. So I feel your pain Zander<3.
And on topic.
Do not like. Do not like this theory or this possible theory and I hope Alex is just stupid. I mean, we know he's stupid, but I hope he isn't sourcing Creepypasta for what Slender Man is. Yeah, *snort* Slender Man is a peadoghost that watched too much hentai/tentacleporn. Makes sense... Wait.
ETA: As I hit send, my door slammed shut. Heh... Every bit of it is turth. I pissed off the MH gods, me thinks.

Guys, this vid is just Alex and Jay following a lead. Stop getting so worked up about how they'll ruin the series or whatever. Have faith.
Anyway, why is no one talking about how threatening Alex seems to be towards Jay in this video? I've had a theory that Alex has ceased to be any better than Masky or Slendy for a while new. Each and every time he reappears, I feel my hunch getting confirmed.

I'd be pretty damn angry at the person who caused a lot of the shit that's going on. If Jay had burned those tapes then Alex wouldn't have to lug him around everywhere. I think Alex just wants to deal with this buy himself.

Jay had no way of knowing about Slender Man, and if it was so important to Alex that those tapes be burned, then he should have done it, himself. It's just as much his own fault that this is happening (again). Besides which, he sent Jay the tape which led him to where they could meet up. It's a hell of a thing to basically invite someone to a meet up and then act threatening towards them.

Honestly, if a friend gave me a bag of tapes to burn, I'd watch them all in one sitting... but I am really a very curious person.
I agree though, Alex probably wanted to deal with this on his own and on top of that his little blonde girl friend could be dead... just like Seth, Brian... Sarah... yeah. I'd be a bit short-fused too.

That was never actually proven. Human emotions are a fickle thing. You have noticed that Alex's supposed girlfriend Amy seems to be missing as well? There are a lot of factors you can chock it up too.

That's the thing, though, I think his behavior goes beyond short-fused. It's like he's just one straw away from thottling Jay throughout all the vids that have had them teamed-up.

I don't really see him as that mad, I just think it's his personality. In the tapes of the filming of Marble Hornets you never really got to see Alex just be Alex. Do you remember when he got extremely mad at Seth in- I think it was entry #9? That was someone messing up his Slender Man watching plans. And now look what Jay has come along and done.
