| So I was just downstairs a few minutes ago, watching my MH DVD ( ), and my dad is on his computer. I've told him about MH, but he doesn't pay much mind to it. I'm on entry 26 and out of the blue he asks "Is this based on a true story?" Without skipping a beat I answer "Oh DEAR GOD, no!" (Which made WhiteWolf, who was in the other room, laugh) Then we had to explain (again, I might add) how this was the series that made WhiteWolf lose sleep in August. If there was any iota of truth in the Slender Man myth, I would still be hiding in a basement corner, crying like a little girl. Has anything funny like this happened to you? Just thought I'd share. Yeah, a video series based on a supernatural faceless monster in a business suit, based on a true story. Sure, Dad. | |

| I told my sedatephobic, nyctophobic, anxious sister who got three weeks of nightmares from a Spongebob episode that it was all real.
My parents say I'm not allowed to talk anymore.

| After I linked to it, several of my friends thought MH was real. I got texts throughout the night of how they couldn't sleep. | |

| When MH was brought up to be again by my cousin, we stayed up all night watching the videos. He IM'd me when he got to the end and said "Dude, is this real?" And I knew it wasn't even though at that point Slendy scared the shit out of me and my imagination was projecting him around the house at night(this was when I was up all night and slept by day. Slendy helped cause this). And I told him maybe, and he was like "Oh shit...", but I told him it wasn't in the end. Not sure if he believed me. | |

| Hm, I'm going to have to do that if anyone I know ever expresses interest in MH. Should probably use the Youtube channel though, not my DVD. | |

| Yeah... Might help. It's scarier if it's shown through a medium that can't specify if it's real or not. | |

| Well, when i had night terrors about it, i showed my dad some pictures about it and told him some of the stuff about Marble Hornets. He didn't really get it, or find it interesting. | |

| I showed the series to my younger cousin who is just in middle school. I had told her before that it was all real and that she had to be careful. I also warned her that the videos can get pretty scary. She still agreed, but was shaking before I even got to Youtube. I showed her almost the whole series before she finally passed out clinging to me the whole time. She refused to sleep by herself for a few weeks. Best part about all of this is we live in front of the woods that people and things creep through at night. I still haven't told her that its not real though. |

| I told my friend Mitch about it and scarred him for life, even though he's never seen a slender-series. YES. | |

| LostOne, you're terrible doing that to her. Granted, I laughed as I read that because that sounds like something she would want to get into, but still.
My brother recently got into the series, I'll occasionally ask him his opinion of entries and the like. He watched the first 29 in one night and it took him a week to start sleeping properly again. Of course, being my brother, he never told me about it but I could tell that he was having trouble sleeping. |

| Of course not. But hey. She ASKED me to watch it... I never said she had to. Plus she knows she is the kind of person who can't watch scary movies... I see it as in no way my fault. |

| This was after I showed it to my sister, and she was getting really in to it. She showed it to her friend Donnie. After the first ten episodes, he is refusing to watch anymore. I'm not sure if he think's it's real, but he still won't let us show him any more episodes. It's great. If only he had gotten to the parts with Masky in them. *sighs* | |

| I watched it for the first time, all the way through, in the middle of the night. Once I was done I was terrified to sleep and ran through the house because of a terror induced adrenaline rush. I didn't want to look outside.
I told my friend over text to watch it and the whole time I kept getting texts like "What the hell was that?" "Is this real?" "OH SHIT"

| Ever since I first discovered Marbled Hornets I've been talking about it with friends and coworkers from time to time. A few weeks ago one of my friends calls me and asks about that tall man thing I keep talking about. Because her sister had just discovered it and she wanted to know what to look up to watch it. I told her and a few minutes later I got a call back. She was very quiet and told me it was the most messed up thing she had ever seen, and how could I watch this? Then she asked if it was real. I suppose the Blair Witch Project didn't teach us much huh? lol

| I've been showing my MH DVD off to pretty much anyone I can get to sit down and actually watch it. I've never directly said yes or no to when I've been asked if slender man is real or not. But unfortunately with as much as I've been watching MH lately, its really beginning to effect my sleep, and things like this normally don't do much to me. (granted, i ended up showing the whole first season about three days in a row) I actually had a rather disturbing dream with slendy in it. One of the scariest dreams I've had...and I don't dream often, so that just makes it seem worse. e_e I don't think I'll watch it for a while now...

| It's really disturbing how many people ask the 'is this real' question. As if a faceless, grossly tall 'man' with unusual abilites could possibly exist! What's up with that? | |

| I was just kind of like "haha, this is pretty good, haha" with the hahas being nervous laughs
I KNEW it was fake, but something about it seems like it could be strange enough to be true, maybe it was the format in which it's presented?

| I agree with konaa. I KNEW it wasn't real and I had nothing to be afraid of, but it had just enough aspects to where it could be real. And I'll be the first one to say over here that I wish things like this were real. | |
