But AESOP/TEACHER never said they'd be safe. We're all assuming that it means safety. But you'd still be 'free' from Slenderman if you were dead, wouldn't you?
I dunno, I might be reading too much into it. I probably am. But I can't shake the feeling that there's a lot more to this game than was let on.

That begs the question, is this really a game? Maybe Slendy is having a weird form of tryouts. Loser serves some... special purpose?
Alternatively, he's trying to weed out the stupid humans, hence the riddles. Or AESOP/TEACHER is somehow able to actually get people off of Slendy's hit list, but only if they prove themselves.
Maybe they have a bet running, I dunno.
