Hey guys Shadow here. Now maybe I have no clue what I'm talking about and somebody has talked to the creator OOG but ML hasn't posted a video in HALF A YEAR, let that sink in, could this channel be dead?

MLA has always been super super slow at updating. They've gone for this long without an update before in the past I think.

Yeah, you have to accept a certain amount of erraticness in Slender circles, I find. We've been waiting eight months now for the makers of 5zer02 to finish editing the climactic second half of their final video. Unless they explicitly say "we're never coming back" or they close their channel I assume every dormant series has at least some chance of popping up again

I don't know..... I find this to be very selfish and rude, I mean half a year? You guys have fans who love your show! And you just make them sit and wait? That's just not being professional. And don't tell me that they are probably 'super busy' because let's get real, we all have freetime at some point.

Well you also have to keep in mind, the amount of time that you spend enjoying a series is incredably dissproportionate to the amount of time spent creating a series. It is an insane amount of work putting together these series, far more than anyone realizes until they are actually doing it. As a creator, if you haven't realized it already, you will. Generally the longer a series runs, the more work, the more effort and the more time it takes to maintain.

Moreover, while it is important to keep your fans happy (or else they won't continue watching), it's not a responsibility. Creators dish out their own time and their own money to make these things with basically no reward. If life interferes, life interferes. We don't know what's being going on in their personal lives, or the amount of sacrifice it takes for them to keep this show going. Every slender series in the world could suddenly end right now and it wouldn't be selfish, or rude. (it would, however, be somewhat disappointed). At the end of the day we get this entertainment free of cost, and rarely with any expectation to understand the work put into it.

tl;dr It's cool to be frustrated when your favorite series isn't updating, but none of these unpaid artists have a responsibility to produce their work at any pace other than what is most feasible for them.

Maybe they are exremely busy and can't keep up the pace, maybe they just don't have the passion for MLA anymore, who knows? If they come back, cool. If they don't, darn. Oh well.

What PostIt said, basically. MLAndersen is produced at their own cost, on their own time, with no recompense other than being told they made a bloody good episode. Maybe if they sold t-shirts or something I might feel like they owed me an episode in return for buying a sweet sweet Patrick/Michael shirt, but really they owe me nothing

I guess it's just a personal thing then. Even though I don't get a 'physical' reward from making: Reviews, Skits, Stop Motions, and Behind The Scenes on my main youtube channel or from MY slendy show or from the music MY band makes or from the short films that I create or the reviews FOR slendy shows I make I still feel the reward of a reaction. When I get a reaction from someone and they become a 'fan' of any of my different works I feel it is my duty TO keep them entertained! I want to make them excited, sad, scared, informed, or whatever, that is just how I function! I love making people entertained and to me, it is cruel to get people invested into something and then just drop it... if you're gonna get people invested into a concept, finish the job... don't leave us hanging. This is just how I function.

I do find it a bit ironic they said in their most recent video they would be updating more, but it is their channel and they can update whenever they want. I really do enjoy MLAnderson, and I do kinda wish they'd update more, so maybe it'd have been better if they just said in their most recent entry to expect more but not soon. There is a bit of an obligation to continue giving the viewers content, but it's not something the fans should get angry with when it takes awhile to happen. Quality work can be allowed to be waited on for a certain degree of time, and there's plenty of other Slender-series that've been doing well, the other "top 4" series have been updating except for perhaps DarkHarvest. Your own slender-series could be going further though Shadow.

MLAndersen0 isn't dead. I am personal friends with the creators and I can assure you it is most definitely not dead.
I really don't feel that its appropriate or even fair to call them selfish or rude considering the time and effort they put into their series to make their audience happy when they can. It's true that they take their time uploading new content however they have lives and they ARE busy with casual life things. I'm not sure how old you are Shadow but when you're out living on your own in the world and have a job to do to make money to pay for important things the only free time you get is used for naps and eating meals.

Furthermore just because you have a certain deadline that you feel the strong urge to keep doesn't mean that deadline is the preferred for everyone else. Sometimes (more often than most audiences think) random hiatuses are planned for specific filming details. I know this and I can speak for my own series personally.
If you have a certain way of doing things then fine whatever, its your thing, but don't go calling other people cruel just because you don't agree with their methods/ways or because you're upset.

There are big things planned for this series and it will take time to accomplish what lies ahead.

I mean, I'm pretty sure they don't work EVERY day of the week. I'm sure they have some down time for casual life stuff like you said, like hanging out and doing, well, life stuff, but I do agree that they work hard on what they do and they deserve as much time to work on it as they can.

EDIT: Also, it seems that when he said "awful quite lately", he meant "awful quiet lately", according to him and some others on the Skype chat, so it was just a big contextual misunderstanding.

Hmmmm........ okay then I am just gonna stop voicing my opinions on these kinda things. I guess responsibility just isn't a thing anymore. And please don't treat me like a child, if I want that I can go ANYWHERE else, this is the one place where it isn't like that but, as of lately, it has been. The community has been a little intimidating on me lately....

Plus, wasn't the last video one about a fresh start? So, it'd actually make sense for him not to update for quote awhile, because obviously it creates that feel of wanting to get away from all the stuff that's been happening.

Let's not jump all over shadow ok?

I already said my piece on what's going on and why. The reality is most creators DO feel like they have a responsibility, but they also have to put their own lives first, and often times there really isn't the amount of free time to put out an update every 2 weeks. God knows I couldn't. (It's also why Slenderseries, with built in cheats like distortion for covering mistakes and real-time updates for the sake of unexpected or planned haituses, have become so popular with the young, creative, internet filmmaker crowd) It's not really an issue of responsibility, or lack thereof, so much as an issue of personal lives. Having the free time to do a slenderseries, music stuff, etc. makes you a really lucky guy. Take advantage of that ability, becuase it's not always going to be that way.

Anyway, I'm sure we're all looking forward to MLA's glorious return!

I don't really see what this has to do with anything considering I only ever heard about this incident and I don't really care about it since it's apparently been handled. Just saying.

You're more than welcome to voice your opinion, however the way you go about voicing your opinion is what I have a slight issue with. Responsibility is different than a hobby, which is what a lot of creators consider their series to be as they have voiced in the past. I again can speak for myself. My series is a hobby. It's something I enjoy to do, and its honestly not too different than my art. I draw things for myself and others because I like doing it and if I go several months without drawing much of anything nobody gets angry because its a hobby not a job, not a responsibility. I apologize if you feel that I'm treating you like a child, I'm simply trying to inform you that MLA isn't dead and that they are busy people just like anyone else in the world and that its not appropriate to call them out on something that isn't fair to call them out on.
There are far more constructive ways to voice your opinion than you have previously.

Thank you have a nice day.

ALRIGHTY THEN!

Being friends with the MLA boys as well, I can assure that there are big things in store, and the fans will not be disappointed. Though, I will agree with the though that it's annoying when we wait for this long for an update. HOWEVER! If you do love a series, you will be patient with it. I mean, I did that for Marble Hornets when the seven month hiatus was in effect, and I thought that what they came back with was more than worth the wait.

My advice would be to find another series to watch and bide your time. Eventually, there will be something one way or the other. Meaning, if they choose to continue, GREAT! If not, you'll be notified about it.

Yeah, I too can attest that it's pretty difficult having a "real life" and trying to update a series regularly.  Sometimes things get in the way and you end up falling into one of two traps: Either you don't update for a while and risk losing viewers, or you rush to film something simple and upload little videos here and there, diluting your overall storyline with "hey, I'm still alive" videos.  Between the issues I had with my car, and my work sending me out of town, I have episodes that I shot footage for back in April that I planned to release in June, which I'm still working on finishing and hope to have them out by the end of the year.
