The Big Announcement after the 'Paragon'ARG

So, after I ended the Paragon ARG, I said that there was another big announcement coming. 


Well, here it is. Before I say it though, let me explain it. 


I won't lie, traffic to the forum has waned. I don't like it, but it is what it is. As it stands, I don't find it really necessary to have a big staff if problems are so very few and far between, it's just counter to reason. Another thought that helped in this decision is that the staff aren't able to log onto the forum as much as I would like to see. Now, I told them all that their own lives came first over this forum, and I stay behind that. It's just one of those things. 

So, if you haven't guessed already, I am going to be cutting the staff down to one: myself. I feel that there really isn't any use of a staff when problems and traffic aren't in abundance. I have talked to all the staff members, given them time to read over what I said, and they are okay with this decision. 

I love them all, and wouldn't have had any other people to help me run the forum than them. 

I wish them all happy returns.

Do you think they'll be back if the traffic on this site becomes increased? Or do you think you could handle it all?

Oh, if the traffic increases again, I will be bringing back some of the staff to help me.

I understand. But don't feel discouraged! Its just that time of year. Once summer rolls around again, it'll kick back up. School takes a lot out of people.

I think the decrease in activity comes from multiple factors, not just the fact that it's moving into winter. The overall hype surrounding Slenderman is decreasing as a whole, as the peak of the hype was when Slender: The Eight Pages was released and played all over youtube. Now that the sequel to this game has been out for a while, less people are googling the slenderman.

Additionally, this website isn't exactly optimized for search engines. I tried searching on google "slenderman forum" and it was the fourth search result. While this may seem good, it's been known that 53% of clicks from google go to the first search result, where 15% goes to the second result and 9% to the third. This means that very few people make it to the fourth result on google.

So yeah, I think less moderators are needed for sure, as site traffic will probably never be what it once was unless some SEO is done or some other cultural movement takes place like the Slender game.

All staff members bar one. Not that I'm holding that against you, I considered resigning at one point anyway due to my inactivity. I would've appreciated a forum PM or something though.

I apologize for you not being in the know of it. It was in the staff chat for several days before I instituted it, so I thought you had at least glanced, that was my fault.

Mine really. At any rate, 'twould appear I'm still the leader of Rakenclaw. Is that meant to be?

I was worried about this decision at first, but after talking with Doc about this I believe his reasons where for the better in his mind and nothing negative. 
I stand by Doc as I have in the past and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Good luck and to the brighter future of SN! - Avi

Aside from that, as I'm no longer a moderator, I probably won't be around very much. Even as a mod, I only posted occasionally, though I did sign in almost daily to check on stuff. But right now, starting a new job and all, I don't have much time to hop online, let alone be active on a forum.

That being said, it's been great everyone. I haven't spoken to many of you in person, but I still think you're all awesome. I'll be back occasionally to get excited about CaughtNotSleeping, as well as plug my own series, but can't really participate in the community.
