Hi there, 

I am gekoladie, also known as quartzapple on other sites, and this is my introductory post. I've been a horror fan for as long as I've been a fan of anything, and I've been writing things for about half that time. Romantic comedy is easy, but horror is hard and that's what's always drawn me to creepy pasta-based internet horror; it's so versatile. You can pretty much do what you want so long as you stick within the boundaries of the established lore, or even push them a little if you do it right. There is no "set writing style" you have to conform to, which is vastly liberating. (Not an excuse for hideous grammar/spelling/etc. but what is?). I've devoured everything written by H P Lovecraft I could get my hands on, read probably every page on the SCP Foundation wiki and held a conversation about politics with the manky cheese at the back of the refrigerator. 

I was first introduced to the Slender Man mythos via TV Tropes. Because I'm a massive nerd and I was bored, I was using the random page generator to find stuff to read, and the page for 'Marble Hornets' came up and caught my interest. After reading a bit, I checked out the videos on YouTube and never looked back. Except when I look over my shoulder occasionally to make sure I'm not being watched. 

I'll probably end up writing a blog or something at some point, but for now I'm happy to just contribute to whatever and everything. Shout-out to people of our ilk in France! No idea how popular this stuff is out here, but I'd love to know if I'm all alone here or not.

Ah merci, vous êtes gentil. Je ne suis pas française (en fait, je suis anglaise!) mais j'habite en France pour mon travail. Mon français n'est pas parfait, mais je veux dire votre français est bon!

Taking Immersion Spanish, have a dictionary, some syntax helps connect

I know approximately no Spanish, but I can pick up bits and pieces from French. Same goes for Italian, but that's the joy of interconnected Romance languages.
