So, there's going to be a new Guidelines Section along with a newer version of the Slender Nation rules. This thread, for all intents and purposes, is so that you can have your voice heard on what YOU think should be in the Rules, and the Guidelines.

Discuss.

I would feel safer with at least the sexual roleplay rule still in the rules. Believe it or not, things like that DO happen, and we have fairly young members we should look out for.

(I would discuss a bit more about what I want to see in the guidelines but I'm studying for a test, so a tad busy.)

Yeah, those are staying. >_> Sexual Roleplay forbidden for obvious reasons. As ridiculous as it may seem with the terrorist one, it still needs to be enforced. I'd also like to refer people to the Terms of Service that Forumotion has as well:

Guidelines and Rules Discussion Empty
PostSubject: Re: Guidelines and Rules Discussion   Guidelines and Rules Discussion EmptyTue Jul 19, 2011 3:37 pm

Mkay, finished studying, took an exam, and had a nap. I think I'm good now 8D

Things I think should be added to the guidelines:

  • Post in a legible manner. Don't use chatspeak, remember to look over your posts for mistakes, etc., etc.
  • Don't overreact when other members don't use proper English. I love you VI, but I felt that one post was extremely disrespectful.
  • Keep in mind that others have opinions. Don't try to force your opinions on the other members (or, god forbid, the entire mythos); if anything that makes the other posters more adamant in their own opinions, and makes you look like an asshole.
  • If someone disagrees with you, don't take it personally. They don't "hate your guts" just because they don't agree with you.
  • Be mature enough to admit when you're wrong. You can't always be right.
  • When making a new topic (not including a Welcome thread), use the search tool to see if the topic has already been made. If the topic already exists, a mod is very likely to merge the two.
  • Colors may make it more difficult for your fellow members to read your post, so use some common sense when/if coloring your post.
  • Don't color every other word/letter, that's just annoying.
I might add more, but this is all I can think of off the top of my head right now.

I think it would be prudent to mention, in regards to forum arguments, that no opinion can be wrong, regardless of how ridiculous it is. I can think that the taste of mud is superb, and that is my opinion.

I just find it annoying when threads degenerate into wars over whose opinion is "right" or "wrong."

Thank you re. That's definitely worth mentioning, considering some of the past arguments.

Please, if any of you have something you think should be mentioned, speak your mind. We would really like more feedback.
