Multiple accounts

As many of you know, we've been quite good at finding people who've made multiple accounts just to fuck with the forum, or to start anew after making such a bad impression the first time. i.e. slendermanfan and a few others.

But recently we've noticed the numbers rising. I know there are a select few of you who share computers because you're family or roommates or something, but there are quite a few of you who aren't. In general it's people who make an account and get down voted on all their posts. They want to start fresh and be loved by everyone. Well too bad. You get one account, that's how this forum works. And posts usually get down voted because they deserve it. Not since the old days of Cat and Cyber have we had down vote wars.

So what I'm trying to get at here is stop making multiple accounts, we're just going to delete them and if you keep it up we'll IP ban you, simple as that.

This is a warning to everyone because I really don't feel like sending it out to so many people as well as I feel this is a good way to let people who are thinking of making another account know that it's a bad fucking idea.

And on another note, win points don't matter. If you get a down vote or an up vote, you probably deserved it anyway. Simple solution, make better posts.

I'm going to second this. It starts raising flags for us when we notice more than one account coming from the same place. If there are legitimately two people posting from the same place, it helps for that to be made clear to the staff.

If, for example, you've forgotten the password to your SN account, or you'd like to use a different username, the staff can help with those situations. But when two seemingly unrelated accounts start posting from the same place, it sets off alarms for us and we start eyeing those accounts with suspicion.

However, we do not tolerate a single person making multiple accounts on this forum. As Mr. Jeebles has said, we've had issues with people making dupe accounts before. We just want to make sure the forum stays clear of trouble. So we'd like the air cleared with anyone who thinks they may be in this situation. You can tell us (here or over PM) if you know you're logging on from the same place as another SN user. We don't want to wrongfully ban anyone for multiple accounts, we just want to make sure the forum stays trouble-free.
