Subject: F.C. Bayern Munchen loss in the Champions League Wed Mar 20, 2013 4:42 pm
So I had this thing on my mind and thought of sharing it with you guys. I believe that nobody here watches football(or soccer, as it is called in 'murica) and that makes this topic useless, but whatever, who cares. I am sad and have been sad ever since the 19th of May 2012, when they were so close to winning the freaking Champions League, which is a league in which the winners and the teams on the 2nd and 3rd place of the national(respective) league participate! The final was, ironically and by coincidence played in Munich(they choose where they play the final before the CL starts).
So, they were against this team, this damn team called F.C. Chelsea and all they did was play defense, if there was ever a chance of scoring it would come from counter-attack, which is lame. That was exactly what happened. Bayern was leading them 1-0 already, but they(Chelski) brought the equalizer near the end of the match. 30 additional minutes came after that. No chance at all, the match ended 1-1. The match result will be settled with penalty kicks. That is not football, that is pure luck, lottery. It ended freaking(I'm sorry, but can't contain it) 4-3 for Chelsea.
So close.
Yet so far.
They were runner-ups. They lost the match, at home, in front of their own fans. They weren't champions. They were sorry. They cried, because they hoped and worked incredibly hard to win. My heart split and ever since then I absolutely adored them. I won't ever be against them and will support them from over here, from Romania, in Bucharest!
Yet, this year... new season, new hopes. They are the top of the Bundesliga, after they didn't win the title for 2 years. They outsold the games on the Allianz Stadium for the whole season ever since this summer, which was even before the season started! They won against their rivals and are 20 points clear from the second place, tho they still aren't mathematically winning the Bundesliga. They are dominating.
YET! WAIT THERE IS TOO MUCH SUCCESS, bring on the failure! This CL, in the last match against Arsenal, they won on their stadium 3-1 for Bayern. When they played the match at Munich, Arsenal beat Bayern with 2-0... Bayern DID qualify, yet that result was scary, with 3-3 on aggregate, Bayern qualified because they scored more goals in the first match. Did NOT expect that loss.
Anyways, hope you understood what I felt, I shared this because the match against Juventus in the CL quarterfinals(an italian team that became better in the last years and will become threatning against Bayern) is soon, but I am losing motivation here. I'll post this video to give you a better idea of Bayern:
MIA SAN MIA! WITHOUT BAYERN, I AM HOPELESS!!! (and yes, it is incredibly off-topic)

You tell me... They qualified in the next stage in Europa League after they played against a Romanian team, Steaua Bucharest, in the first match Steaua won, in the second Chelski played like they played in that final. A disgrace to football if you ask me...
Also, I am happy I am not the only one here that watches or knows about the European football.

I'm not a massive fan, but my Dad is and I absorb some bits of knowledge.
