Higurashi no naku koro ni Empty
PostSubject: Higurashi no naku koro ni   Higurashi no naku koro ni EmptyTue Apr 02, 2013 4:24 pm

About a year ago, I heard about this anime series from a friend. Besides the occasional Pokemon, I don't watch anime.

But this series turned out real good. They played out some amazingly well done Lovecraftian horror, and the plot line has so many parallels to the Slenderman Mythos (even though this series is 10 years old now). I believe I mentioned this series before during the conversation with one of the EMH episodes (because the series is like HABIT x100)

The anime itself you can check out here (https://www.youtube.com/user/episodeanimeTV/videos?view=0&flow=grid)) was shown back in 2006-2007.

It's about this town called Hinamizawa, which is said to be haunted by an old curse. Residents here have this disorder that has very similar symptoms to Slendersickness (paranoia, insanity, aggressiveness, etc.) The story is focused on a few of the residents, each story arc involves different events and scenarios? Why this happens is revealed in season 2, known as Higurashi no naku Koro ni Kai.

I just want to show this because of the similarities to the mythos and also a new story (aka Kaku) is coming out real soon.

Whether anime fan or not, it's definitely worth checking out.
