Well, I foresee there maybe being 3 or 4 more entries left in this series.... I really wonder what will happen next, it seemed fairly predictable to me that hoodie was going to help Jay rather than hurt him when he got the knife... but maybe that's because I have been watching to much Walking Dead.

I assume Hoodie must think that Tim really needs backup because I had thought he didn't trust either of them, but he might be giving in a bit with that "last chance" thing on the mirror. And if Hoody is Brian then I'd think he would have more faith in Tim being able to finish it, which kinda shakes my theory on who he is. Without that medicine something serious is gonna happen to Jay. I'm quite sure the series will be ending soon though, and I still think there's two entries left.

I'm still in the camp that says Hoodie is Amy; there have been several suggestions in entries post #70 that her role is significant, and we never did get a resolution to her disappearance in #26. Plus it would just be nice if a woman in Marble Hornets got a role other than "MacGuffin". It's been noted out-of-narrative that Tim, Joseph and Troy have all played the part of Hoodie when necessary so I'm not swayed by counter-arguments based on physique. I'm also not sure that she entirely trusts either Jay or Tim, but she's willing and knows how to play them to get to Alex. And two longish entries would make sense: one to confront Tim and one to take down Alex (with copious Operator) together. Though I suspect we're never going to get closure on the twitter-only antique store adventure that so obsesses me
EDIT: also season 3's DVD set is going to be bloody huge, because at present season 3 is almost as long as 1 and 2 combined | |

This is all probably codswollop and I'd likely be hugely disappointed if it played out anything like I'm imagining, but for the sake of shits 'n' gigs here it is: - Possible ending:
Everything ultimately comes down to how much the gang want to subvert expectations, but I suspect we'll see Jessica turn up again at the climax. I'd banked on her being dead at the end of #76, but Tim and Jay's trade-off in #77 is very foreshadowy and it's been demonstrated that Tim has passed into and out of the Operator's little pocket universe or whatever it is. Also Jessica's corpse wasn't there even though tunnelman was, and he'd been canonically dead longer. If she is alive and does reappear, I hope it's not some hideous 1980s-fantasy-cliché where they defeat the evil Operator and Jessica is released from his powers. As for the climax itself, the most obvious path for my money is that Jay will first find Tim and, after suitable conflict, reuinite The Team to go tackle Alex, making the final video a showdown between Team TimJay on one side and Alex, backed by the Operator, on the other. Hoody has to show up in the midst of the action, and an unmasking (my money's still on Amy) is inevitable. Hoody may in fact bring a whole horde of fellow masked travellers, because although we haven't seen any explicit suggestion of more of them since that bit in #26 there are other hints (the antiques store again) that a body of people exists who're involved in some way with all of this. If they do, that's probably where Jessica will show up. I have no idea how, exactly, but it'll be most likely where she'll appear again. The main problem with such an ending from a practical point of view is that it requires a decent number of people, but I'm sure they have other friends who'll be glad to fill a mask here and there
So you get a lot of people crashing around for the grand finale, probably in a location we haven't seen before even though it seems most obvious to set it in the burnt out hospital since so much action has taken place there before. The most likely outcome of all this is that Alex ends up dead with the possible corollary that the mob turns on Tim and Jay to wrap up the loose ends. This doesn't mean that they get the chop, but it means they disappear into the night for good. The Operator, clearly, goes on spooking kids with video cameras for many years to come. One last ToTheArk video for an ominous closing note, and we're out
Anyway that's one idea. I hope it's not actually how it goes down because it's terribly overwrought now that I'm reading it written out, but it's nice to have it out of my head | |
