| I decided to post this because it seems that no one else has yet. This is a newer Slender Man series called "The Dead Are watching" that I have been wanting to discuss for some time. This series has a very unique build up to the Slender Man's arrival. I would really like to know what other people's opinions on this YouTube series are. So... Love it? Hate it? Ambiguous? And why? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I recommend using the playlist called “The Dead Are Watching In Order” if you want to see the whole series (>30 Min. long), because the “Uploads” section is way out of order. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]If you want to see only the blatantly Slender stuff then start on episode 17. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]And if you just want to see the Slender Man shows up in episode 27... here you go. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]EDIT: Three new episodes have been added since I posted this topic. The Slender Man appears again in episode 30: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]In episode 31 Leo is taken to a certain boardwalk in the woods similar to one other I can think of. | Be forewarned: You asked for my opinion and in that regard I will give it wholly and honestly. Please take this as constructive criticism only. The premise is interesting. And boy oh boy is the time taken before any real slender nonsense goes down. There we're a few things that made me on edge. That weird hand in 19 freaked me out a little. Hands and arms coming from nowhere spook me for some reason. And 27 was very well done and convincing in a realistic like way. Now that your into the metaphorical meat and potatoes of a slender series I would be interested to see a little more. But with all that buildup with the ghosts and demons and stuff I would hope there would be a connection with the two. (can't really see one right now) The only thing I didn't care for; The necronomicon. For me this has always seemed old hat and a little silly. I just have never seen its appeal in a scary format. Not to mention, why oh why would you bother messing with something like that unless you were just asking for trouble. Overall I appreciate the short posts and constant shannagans. You seem to get to the point with most of the videos and I appreciate that. Especially since there are a ton of vlogs out there where each one is like 7mins long and most of the time its someone messing around at home and then at the end....SLENDERMAN! Yawn. My opinion has been given. | |

| So, i have only watched the first three videos so in terms of slenderman i don't have much of an opinion, but in terms of a series i have some ideas.
Really? Necronomicon? It was a book freaking made up for HP lovecraft. I'm not impressed by this series so far, the premise is unique, but feels like something i would see in a crappy movie they air on 4am on the chiller channel. Also, anyone else notice all the black pieces were conquered by one white piece?
But yeah, im not impressed so far, but ill keep watching in hopes that it gets better
EDIT: finished it, not that impressed by the series in a major way. I'm glad he keeps the videos short and having other paranormal stuff before slenderman is cool, but it just isn't scary and I'm not impressed by the story. Points for being really original and i hope that this series will eventually find its place, but i just don't find it that good

| Thank you Crusergirl and TriplePie for your opinions. I thank you both for giving me the positive and the negative. The Necronomicon is a fake account, yes, but so is everything else in this series. Everything in this series is also based on the ideas presented in and around the Necronomicon mythos making this series kind of a hybrid. The Watchers, the servants of the Watchers, even the Slender Man is being set up as a sort of a aspect of Choronzon, Lord of Hallucinations. All these concepts come from that mythos to aid in giving this mythos a purpose for being in Leo's life. This is all quite technical. To make things more simple I will merely say this... The Slender Man has just arrived so let the fun begin! If anyone has more opinions on what you have seen or suggestions on how to improve upon the series then please let me know. I would love to hear them! (So happy I finally get to discuss this!) | |

| OK I'm just gonna post here real quick and say how much I love this series. ESPECIALLY because of the latest entries. "Oh, there's no one out here- UHFJWGFJKSDZHFGSJz" And, when he was walking around on the boardwalk, I'm just sitting here like "...I know exactly where that is, heheheh." So, awesome. I love the effects and plot of this series and can't wait to see more! | |

I thank you quofomo for your honest and positive review ^.^ I am sorry I did not get back to replying sooner, but I was waiting for some new episodes to come up so I could do this without double posting. The Dead Are Watching has been getting a lot of love lately. Its subs have almost caught up with... well... CaughtNotSleeping. It makes me happy to know that other people enjoy this series as much as I do. If anyone else would like to share their opinions on this show I would love to hear them. Love it, have it, in-between or how would you make it better. All great topics and are welcome here. 2 new episodes recently released. | I just saw 32. I love how he looks when he is losing his mind from lack of sleep. Is this you in front of the camera Tahrgat? God it looked good. Or rather bad. No offense but Leo looked like shit and as I was watching it I was like, "Damn, this poor guy is all fucked up and going crazy." - Spoiler:
Then I was waiting for a creepy part and the wide eyes creepy face came in. Love that it was erie as hell.
This series is getting much better as I follow it. I'm officially subscribed now so I look forward to awesomeness. Good Luck.

Thank you for the links. I thank you both for your interest. Hopefully I have brought something enjoyable to your attention. As many have said the series starts off kinda slow, but gets more interesting as it goes. I just checked out the playlist and it says the duration is >40 Min. Just letting you know what you are up against. Update: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Okay this is a odd episode. It seems that Leo hasn't gotten much sleep yet and has continued down the path of loosing his mind. He now appears to have company for his trip. Here is the description for the episode: "With th3 lack of sanity com3s only truth, no matter how insan3 that truth may be." Update 2: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Leo has gotten some sleep and gives us a brief update. Also he appears to now possess the weird mask from the last episode. Update 3 & 4: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]This is what happens when you wander around town in a delirium at night. and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The Slender Man pays Leo another night time visit.

| I'm trying to watch through all the vlogs lately and this is the next one on the list. My thoughts as I watch. - Spoiler:
Entry 1: as said before. Necrominicon (or however the frig you spell it)? Really? Reeeaaallly? Particularly with the use of the ouiji board and the emphasis on the phrase "Paranormal Activity", it felt like a certain, second rate, lame horror movie I know of. *ahem ahem*
Entry's 2-5: Ok, so I like the use of ghost footage. I'm very curious about the supernatural and this is an interesting and realistic feeling approach to it. I also appreciate that he replays "ghost" sightings on other videos, like a real person would. I just wish he wouldn't be so "I have never experienced something like this before!!!" Though I loooved some of the subtleties that lend themselves to slender, like the chess peices still standing.
Entry 6: Cheesy overexplination, and what was with the sponge from the sky?
Entry 7: Don't care.
Entry 9: This would've been more effective if you had interviewed him in a place, like your work. I find it hard to believe that a stranger would be willing to come to your house, and talk, on camera, about his errors-in-drinking tattoo. Though, I like that you paid him at the end. That actually redeemed it a lot.
Entry 11: Why does everybody in this series knock like death? Nobody knocks naturally and I can't figure out why. Is that tattoo boy? Creepy non-the-less. The effect is nicely done.
Entry 12: This series has some really nice subtleties. In fact, I would say that's it's strength about all else. The computer screen in the background is a nice touch.
Entry 13: Bleh, paranormal activity.
Entry 15: Dem dissapearin' peoples is back again Marge! Get the shotgon!
Entry 16: There is some creepy and interesting points in these notes, but the audio program, the eye, and the overly loud music dampens the effect. The music is good, but turn it down, and it would have been better without the eye in the background. A simple image of the necromicon or something would have helped me focus on the words themselves.
Entry 17: uuuuuumm...kaayy...
Entry 18: Acting is good, but you lost me when you actually reached out. Felt like acting for a moment, but then it came back.
Entry 19: Eh, creepy idea, but it didn't really get me. I'm not a big fan of the ripple distortion either.
20:
-Preeeeetty.
-Caaaake
-Too TJA Projects for me. Not bad, just not really my style. It was too easy to find. I feel like a character should have to fight for his clues.
Entry 21: You don't need to tell me that this is what we came for. We know. And how did you not notice the Shy Guy standing two feet from you? The camera drop-reveal was good, but it'd work better if he was further away and moving. He looks awkward.
Entry 23: Was there something in the mirror? If there was, that's awesome.
Entry 24: That man. has an AWESOME. VOICE.
Entry 25: I made a shocking discovery. *lightening*. Har-de-mcHar. I see what you did there.
Doesn't really look like a dead body...looks like a goblin. There's a Thiiiiiing in the Paaaaaaarrrrk! (/bad twiligth zone joke). The tomato juice vomit was a little weak as well.
Entry 26: Of course he's from New Jersey. After all, that is where slender man lives, though I hear he winters in Florida. Although some background information is certainly interesting. Ken you say? Hmm... Better go track down that daughter. I just wish it didn't sound like you were reading from a script so much.
Entry 27: *cough cough cough cough -pick up camera- cough cough cough* Slenderman! oh noes! The coughing should've ended before picking up the camera, or you should've seen slendy and then picked up the camera, because as it is, it seems a little awkward. Also, that slendy head is way too white. Try covering it with a few layers of nylons or something so it looks remotely like flesh. Applause though, the Shy Guys in the front yard actually looked pretty good.
Entry 28: Acting was weak. Leo always talks with the same intonation and it makes him sound like he's reading his lines. Remember, when people are scared, nervious, excited, yadda yadda yadda, there inflection changes.
Entry 31: hey, they got the tape out! inn't that polite?
My only thought when he entered the house? WARIO WAS HERE!
The outburst was nice, it felt real. But it did kinda look like he was pissed because they raided his soda collection.
Entry 32: Acting is good, he looks miserable. The grin at the end was cheesy and reminiscent of the Just Another Fool grin. It'd been creepy if it was a slow up-grin rather than a sudden grin, you know?
Entry 33: Were those supposed to be tenticles?
Entry 34: Not bad, sound effects are creepy, acting is good, and I'm curious. Just wish I couldn't tell what Windows-moviemaker filter he was using.
Alrightyo. My honest opinion? It's not terrible. It's not awesome, but it's not bad. The acting varies from video to video as to how believable I find it, often times Leo is too stiff, he has sort of awkward diction and he doesn't inflect much from emotion to emotion, but other times, he can really let loose and be pissed, which I perfer. The plot is ok, I like the unique introduction to Slendy and the use of the proxy-watchers but sometimes the series draws too heavily on existing Slendy-lore and it can become too referential to other series. There are a few shots that made me go "oh that's from Just Another Fool" or "That looks familiar to Caughtnotsleeping" or whatever. I don't mind people drawing off of other series good camera angles or interesting ideas but it also needs to bring some more of it's own stuff to the table. It's really not bad, and I'll keep watching it, but it's not really done anything to draw me in yet. I think it desperately needs some better cinematagraphy and it needs something more in the plot arena, a new element or puzzle or something to really get us engaged. Right now there's not really anything for me to talk about... just my thoughts.

| I saw the whole series in one night. I was quite underwhelmed by the acting, which was pretty damn wooden. The premise is quite unique though, and I enjoyed it for what it was worth. And also, Slender Man is quite different. It lacks the tie, and seems to be dressed like a preist. I found that to be an interesting, and overall pretty cool idea. Leo also made a playlist for lesser known 'Slender series' which was cool of him. |

| Thank you for your review AmanwithoutaNaME. Congratz, you are the first person to identify the style of my Slender Man! Yeah, my acting isn't that great. I never wanted to be an actor in my series, but supply and demand you know. Besides, bad acting is the popular trend in these series ;p The newest episode is up. People have been liking it so far. Leo wakes up a month after the events in the last episode and madness ensues. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| I watched the whole series yesterday & it was pretty cool. I always thought there should be a Slender series that starts off with the premise of paranormal investigation, so it was awesome to see that concept come to life I was surprised, though, & thought it was a shame that the ouija board session was not shown to us. I at least wish the details of said session had been reported back to us | |

| I registered here just to comment on this series. I'm really diggin it so far. (I'm up to 33.)
This is great. I love the shortness of the videos and how they get right to the point, it makes it so much easier to watch than EmH (which I'm still in the process of muddling through). I finished Marble Hornets and it was my first exposure to the Slender Man mythos, so I sought out as many other Slender Series as I could find. I know some people here hate some of them, but I have yet to be really bothered by one. I even liked jonclubs113, and I was disappointed when I saw how and why it ended to abruptly.
I have a couple critiques, but they were so many videos ago at this point that I don't remember most of them. The one I do remember is that Slendy's face and hands don't have matching skin tones. I don't care that his head was white (I saw someone else complain that it was too white, but I don't mind) as long as the hands are equally white. I don't know why that stood out to me, but it did. I actually like the acting, it feels natural.
Because I'm not comfortable on camera, I come off as a little awkward, even when I'm just talking and not acting. And that's the same vibe I get here. Just a guy who's not really used to filming himself, and it doesn't come off as artificial at all.
Anyway, I'm not sure what the deal is with the Maskies (Watchers?), but I like the overall feel. I hope there's more actual plot coming up, rather than a bunch of disjointed "weird stuff's going on!" type things. But I am intrigued and have sub'd.

Lethalullaby, I think that we will see the ritual in the future.
Buddy13, I think the story should start flowing together for it is all connected. Also, the Watchers are the spirit entities. The Followers of the Watchers are the sprinkling of masked beings.
To anyone who is interested. A new episode is out.
Leo gives a brief update of the last two weeks and reveals some things he has found.

| I already watched it! Because of the sub email from YouTube ;-)
For the first time, I felt like this one was a little *too* short.

For the first time, I felt like this one was a little *too* short. I agree, but in comparison to some other episodes it wasn't that short. Episode 8 is only 13 seconds long. Sorry if you feel cheated it's just a busy time of the year. I would like to thank you for subscribing! You and several other users have helped The Dead Are Watching reach 200 subs!

| this series has peeked my interest so far.... just wish some one would research other occult and paranormal items than the neconamocron and Ouija board. it is not like those are the only things out there that function as a maguffin | |

| First on the agenda, Tarvok, thanks for the message ^.^ Secondly, for any who care to be informed, There is a new episode of The Dead are Watching out! This one has been getting some pretty positive feedback. Leo's camera is back from being repaired so he updates us on his current situation then goes out back to see what is hidden under the ground. | That was awesome! I love the fade in effect. Damn that's some fast running, fight or flight is strong in this.
That makes me feel as though Slendy doesn't want him to dig up whatever's in the ground, that maybe he won't like what he sees.
Stupid question Tahrgat, are you Leo by any chance?
