| I've been wanting to get my blog noticed, but I really haven't found an effective way to do it. I've tried social networks, fansites, etc. Can anyone give me any advice on how to get my blog noticed on the Internet? | |

| Andy mentioned it in his Slenderbloggins post but I'll stealre-state it: commenting is definitely a good way at getting noticed.
Two of my blog Becoming The Face's followers so far came from Adam making a comment on another blog or two during a moment in the story. Most of my other blog The East's Eden followers came from The Overseer making some rare comments on other blogs as well as following them. It's a slow process but it starts working from there.

| see that's where I have my problem. I don't want my blog connected in anyway to other blogs. It would just be strange for my character to do that. Was there an other thread to help with this? If so I missed it. | |

| Most of the blogs I follow I started reading because I saw a lot of character comments or a crossover on a blog I was already reading. I have a massive folder of bookmarks of blogs I plan to read, most of which were found the same way. | |

Was there an other thread to help with this? If so I missed it. Well, if the problem is just that your blogs main character wouldn't comment on other blogs is there a secondary character who might? At the moment it wouldn't make any sense for Jcarlson (from my blog) to comment on Slender/Fear blogs because he's unaware of the Mythos right now. However Pirate Percy is looking for Janice very hard and has asked a few bloggers if they might know where to find her, and since Percy follows To Light a Candle . . . Edit: Also I figure that if the forum you're on allows it and you think there might be interested readers linking to the blog in your sig can't hurt.

No Slendy Proxie (yet anyway) that would do so. I'm also so new here, I wouldnt' feel right plugging my blog too hard but I will. Oh I will... Also on a slightly related note on how to get readers, my blog also has some videos connected to it. I call it a Blog/Vlog/twitter combo. I got some good response with putting my videos out there that link back to my blog. Sadly, the slenderman in my video so far was laughable but I don't think it was bad for a first try. I got some hits from the videos back to the blog so it did its job so far. Also with the twitter I plan on following alot of random things I think she would be into. Some possible readers could come from there but not expecting anything as it wouldn't be anything Slendy or even horror related. Also thinking I might make fan art of my OWN BLOG and post it on Deviant art and upload it to all the Slendry/horror groups I'm in/own. If these Ideas helped anyone else, that would be awesome. Yay I contribute!

| I also want to point out that a new theme of bloggers doing "interviews" with other blogs. It's kind of like a one episode crossover with nothing but dialouge, but you can always try requesting an interview with one of the people who do it from time to time, the ones I know of are Dia of Be Wary of these, The Messenger from Don't Shoot the Messenger, and Dr. Cairo from CompileTruth. Of course these people don't have to interview your character, in fact this would probably only work if you have a rich backstory, so it wouldn't work with characters who haven't had much Slenderman experince. I am also planning on jumping on this bandwagon and conducting the ocasional interview myself, though fair warning I don't have a big enough following to improve your own attendance if we did an interview. Also if you request an interviewand get told no don't complain about it, don't freak out, it's ultimantely the bloggers choice weather or not to do an interview, and they may have other plans for their blog that an interview would delay. | |

I'm willing to help anyone with a cross over. In fact, I've been looking to do so for a while myself. I'm working on the vlog benthedreamcatcher (sorry no link, I just joined 5 days ago but its on YouTube). A crossover would greatly help myself and any other newer/ small audience blogger/vlogger.

| I don't normally comment around, but I figured I'd weigh in, since apparently my blog is rather popular. Take the Myth got most of it's following because, as people mention, commenting works wonders. Along the same vein, crossovers do wonders for both blogs involved-and if you cross with a bigger blog than your own, it gives you a bigger boost.
If you can't logically comment or cross over, advertising here or other places where slender readers go is a big help.

| I'm pretty new to all this myself. Commenting in character on other peoples blogs seems like the best way. (I'm considering eventually trying my hand at a blog myself, I'd love to try and add to the mythos) However, I wonder about accidently hijacking someone else's story (making a comment that doesn't work with what they're writing, etc).
Is there a generally accepted set of etiquette that you follow to make sure you’re not stepping on others toes in game when you comment? Do you contact the blog owner OOG first and tell them you'd like to comment in character from your story?

Not really! If you look on Return to Slender, there's a good few posts with over 20 comments. Sometimes we get more than 50. We even broke the big 1-0-0 in a comment thread once! It would be awfully tedious to ask permission every time, wouldn't it? ;P The general rule I tend to use is don't be a dickbag if you haven't read the blog in it's entirety. Of course, if you're familiar with the blog and think a character is being stupid, go for it and let 'er rip! A lot of the time, that's what we're looking for. Just make sure you still don't totally throw away your manners, is all. :3 I'd say that 90% of us can separate In-Character feels from Out-of-Character feels. Nobody's going to hold a well thought out but antagonistic comment against you. c:

You would think that goes without saying, but this IS the internet. lol I think what I'm thinking is more inserting mythos into someone's game or something that clashes with their world accidently. Say, I make a post in character that also mentions Seedeater, and the blog I'm commneting on isn't dealing with that mythos. Is that considered bad form?

I can only really speak for myself, but if you don't mention it in your comment, I don't think anyone really cares much. ;P In fact, people like Dia and Amy comment on purely slenderstuff all the time, and they're predominantly fearblogs. If they really don't like the comment, they can delete it, of course! :3

| Post it on r/slender_man on Reddit. All our entries go up on there, and we get some decent feedback from them, and quite a few views as well. | |
