OneHundredYardStare

Okay, so, I found this Slender Man series while surfing YouTube called OneHundredYardStare. It consists of three main characters: Elle, Macy, and Avery. Their series has only seven entries so far, but that's only because they started a little over a month ago. So far, it is amazing, in my opinion.

They're also very consistent with their uploads, uploading a new video what looks like to be a week at a time.

Wow, that was really good. In the first couple of videos it felt like they were still figureing out how to do everything, but they found their stride quickly. The distortions (video and audio) are good enough to make you react, but not the loud staticy sounds that annoy me with other series. I think the redhead isn't the greatest actor, but the blond girl deifeintly gives off a creepy vibe whenever she's on screen, which is good. My only real problem is that it doesn't feel like they're the ones uploading the videos, they don't act like they are planning on sharing they're story, just recording it. It's kind of a found footage kind of perspective, only it's uploaded as the footage is made. Still, that's easy to overlook when you see how creepy everything else is, I'm looking forward to seeing where this series is going.

I would have to agree that Macy and Avery aren't the best actresses, but Elle definitely is an astounding actress.

Where has this series been all my life the past four months or so.

Wow, so it's pretty good so far. I'm enjoying the fact that it just dove right in and it seems to have some history to it. I also kind of think it's being uploaded after the series is "over," kind of like Last Card Drawn's way of doing uploads.

I didn't find the redhead to be the best actress in the world, but it wasn't so bad that it took away from anything. I'm excited to see where it's all going, and I LOVE the acting of the blonde girl. They seem to have a nice camera and I enjoy the way they incorporated music into their series. Really enjoying this so far!

I love how the distortions line up with Elle's movements, and that subtle increasing whine towards the end...

I'll just say that I'm watching this on a small embedded video in the middle of the afternoon on a sunny spring day, and I still got chills.

Good things, I expect good things from this series.

It's been awhile since I've actually been scared throughout a series. Very well done and creepy as hell.

For some reason, the acting to me takes me out of the series juuust enough that I know I'm watching a series, and my immersion is somewhat taken away. For some reason, bad acting seems more believable to me than good acting, which is what we have here. Although, once stuff starts to go down it seems they drop it a little bit and I'm able to get back into it.

That said, I'm really enjoying this series, I wish we could contact the creators. I love talking to creators about their works. I thought the whine was a train whistle, but apparently it was an approaching Slendy? I wish she had turned the camera around to show what was behind her! I enjoyed this entry, but my favorite is the one where the blonde is listening to music and then goes out to meet Slendy.

I actually like that the Slenderman wasn't shown, not being able to see him just made it that much more frightening for me. When all you have is their reactions to him you don't even know exactly what's going on, which is kind of the origonal point of the verse, right?

All you know is something's wrong.

Oh I like that they didn't show it, I just wonder what they were running from. I mean, it doesn't necessarily have to be Slendy. Still, I do love that scene, I thought it was a train in the background. My favorite is still ...8, I think? I love the way the music is used.

Kay, that was chilling.

The editing for this series is really superb. I've gotten the chills almost every episode.

Lately, the videos play out like predictable action movie trailer clips. It all just seems to distant for me to be even slightly emotionally involved. I disagree that it feels like found footage entirely. It's edited way too much to be such.

Yeah, I agree that the videos look way too chopped.

Fourteen is up. I'm about to say something very evil, and I hope you all can forgive me for it. Ellie... reminds me of... Lindsay Lohan. She totally does.
Agh, I hope I can live with myself after this.

And agreeing with everyone here, she really is a good actress, the other two not so much.

This one, this one I liked. I want more of this. Some good breathing space here, where I got a good bit of the group dynamic.

I don't know whether or not to be intrigued by this. I'm kind of not, because these girls really don't have much going for them in the way of character, and there doesn't seem to be a plot to speak of beyond "OMG TEH SLENDORMANZ!" There's really not much atmosphere anywhere. I agree that Ellie is a pretty good actress and the others not so much, but I think she's the only thing in the series that made me care at all.

I don't think there has been enough acting on any of the girls' parts to even comment. Although yeah, Ellie is the most talented. I think what I like least is the lack of character development, or rather, the lack of character at all. But I don't think the other two are bad so much as they, when compared to her, barely talk, and when they do talk they are relegated to exclamation and small talk. I really do like this series, and I'm really glad to see a turn away from the choppiness of the last several videos, I'm looking forward to seeing where this is going.
