Best slenderblog

Whats the best slenderblog you've ever read? What would be a good one to read that's realistic and wouldn't be done in a couple days?

brighter than a spoon is very good. It's a fairly short read though. Still, definitely worth checking out.

Isn't brighter than a spook a Cold Boy Fearblog though?

I highly recommend Dreams in Darkness if you haven't already read it.

It features the Cold Boy, in fact it was the first ever appearance of him. But the main antagonist of the blog is Slendy

Dreams in Darkness is one I highly recommend. I also suggest checking out Just Another Fool.

But really, Dreams In Darkness will hold a special place for me, but everyone's going to have their own opinions of their favorite/best blog.

Dreams in Darkness is definitely my favorite. The Tutorial is also pretty good!

Just Another Fool is the only Slenderblog I've really been able to get into. It's extremely well-written and chilling, along with being the first Slenderblog.

This neatly sums up my response.

okay objectively, there's some real good blogs out there, at least back when I was reading them constantly. Some told stories of hope, of loss, of death, some were poignant and short, and others were long struggles against hopelessness.

A lot of us learned a lot about writing while experimenting with the craft. Did I like Dreams in Darkness? Yes, it had some good elements in it, and had a good sense of horror, which was quite needed. Do I think its the best? Ehh no, it's disjoined at times, but still a great read. JAF? Barebones basic, sort of a tutorial if you will, it was a proto-blog in my eyes, one where it was about the monster being around, but not really what happens. As I like to say, it was "There's a creepy thing in my backyard", before most blogs switched to "This creepy thing is ruining my life." A simpler read, and worth reading, to be true.

If we were to date the blogs, back when they were starting, there was only one blog that was considered excellent...Seeking Truth. Before everyone stood up to the monster, Zeke did. Granted it could've been seen as a Mary Sue move to a) survive, and b) to fight back, but he wrote it well.

However it came time to change up the ground rules, 'best' implies showcasing all that there is in a slender blog. Imagination, new grounds, horror, dread, and character growth (I've been told I helped introduce the later to the Mythos, so I had to mention THAT).

That blog........is Lake Reflections.

Which is why I wrote a companion to it. A Spot of Luck, which in retrospect I'd have named "Call Me Nil."
