Their first mistake was being in the forest in the first place this late at night. Particularly in this forest, with its dark pine canopies and thickets of skinny trees, limbs bent in odd positions, outstretched like arms to the night sky. Though one, perhaps, was not quite a tree...

Perhaps the only consolation was that it was relatively nice out, not too cool and not too hot, typical of Fall in this area. It was a good night to be out and about, a good night to explore.

A good night for hunting.

Its first inclination of something intruding in Its forest was the soft ripple of rustling leaf rot. It did not feel like a native animal, no, it didn't move like one. This moved far more like an interloper. Two legs. There was more than one, from various angles and areas, all rather distant yet. Hadn't It observed a group like that stumbling in as if poisoned by something?

Its second inclination was a vibrating shout, a human noise. Humans were such noisy creatures even when silent, a trait infinitely helpful to It. It could not pick out specific sounds, at least not ones It knew from past targets like "Hello?" "Help!" or "Oh God!", but It could easily track the source if it stayed that noisy, and they usually did when lost.

That was, of course, their second mistake.

The sound of silence had never been this loud before. The leaves falling, bushes rustling, and owls hooting; the night can sure do wonders. Lillian continued to venture the woods, carefully checking her surroundings. She was still trying to figure out how she got here. It's not common for someone to awaken in the middle of a forest this late at night.

Suddenly, she heard the sounds of someone calling out to her. Someone just called out her name or is she hearing things? Lillian stood there and listened carefully before she resumes her walk. She hopes that it was part of her imagination and that no one besides herself is really lurking in these woods.

Jessie awoke suddenly into a state of half conciousness. He tried to stand up almost instantly but he knew if he pushed himself too far he would fall back into unconsciousness. Jessie took his time getting into an upright position, barely holding off crying due to the immense throbbing pain in the back of his head. Jessie lifted and arm and put his hand to the side of his head and felt that warm liquid gushing from the wound left by the rock. Jessie bent down to find a sharp rock and to his luck found one almost instantly, he cut through the material of the right leg of his jeans and pulled it free, using it as a makeshift bandage for his head.

Upon standing up he felt light headed but managed to grapple a tree before he fell to the ground. Jessie stopped for a moment and realised that the tree didn't feel like a tree at all, it was softer...squishier, he looked up and saw the blurry face of someone familiar, but he couldn't make out who it was.

(Gosh! Ive never been on an RP so active!)


*Wakes up* "Where am I?... A- Am I drunk? All I had was orange juice!" *smells cup* Someone put alcohol in my OJ! WHO DID I-..." *Looks around* "... Well, crap... No one is here..."

With seeing Jessie alive and..well, not dead, kale was instantly relieved. "J-Jessie? Is that you? It's me, Kale!" unknowingly, he said these words loudly, which had been a small adjustment of a shout. "C'mon, get up here,! We don't want to leave you down there bleeding, do we?" Again with the same tone but a bit softer, he yelled to Jessie. Kale looked around swiftly, checking if anybody was there. Fortunetly, he was alone, away from danger.

It was close now to at least two of the interlopers, It could tell easily. At least two. Although one was not noisy, no, this one was wounded. This interloper's pain resonated deliciously through the air, quite tempting really...

Its attention turned towards the wounded being. The creature... no, human, it was human, It had seen and felt them before. And where there were humans, there was always fear. The human seemed disoriented, likely as a result of its wound.

And disoriented prey was always easier to take, so long as It could track it.

But first to pinpoint it. Not there... no... a bit closer to there... yes... would have to have been in front of It, and it's moving backwards, so...

There. Perfect. Now to let the human come to It.

Which it did, by running into Its legs. Then by grabbing Its limbs.

Oh. There it was.

It tilted Its head in vague interest that the human hadn't collapsed in illness yet. Usually they always did, once this close. But perhaps the injury this one had sustained was taking precedence over the illness. Yes, that could be it...

Either way, this one's pain was making It very hungry... and if the human stayed disoriented, it stood very little chance of escape...

... No. Not yet. It would not take this one yet, despite Its hunger. This human was not ready... it needed more time to understand its situation, more fear.

They always were more fun to chase that way.

It was gone before the human had any chance to understand who, or what exactly, it had run into. A single, brief glimpse would be enough. Just enough.

Lillian was getting a bit bored and a tad nervous that nothing seemed to be getting anywhere. She walked past a familiar rock as it finally struck her..this is the same rock she past for the 3rd time! The poor girl has been walking in circles! This is rather frustrating.

With a small silent sigh, she sat on the lone rock, wondering what to do next. It was times like this she really wished she had a compass. Suddenly, she heard a scream nearby..or a shout rather. It sounded like the same person crying out for help previously. That means..there's people in these woods! Filled with hope, Lillian started to run towards the source of the voice, in hopes of finding a camp site where she can finally get some rest.

However, along the way she came across another male, Kale was it..? He stood by the edge of a clearing which appeared to be a cliff. She carefully approaches the male and tosses a pebble to his side to indicate that she's behind him.

Being voiceless can be very annoying sometimes...

"Jessie? C'mon, man. Big dark forests aren't my idea of fun." He yelled to Jessie again, this time with more urgency in his voice. He tried one more time- what was that? He heard a noise, a pebble had flown next to him. He slowly looked behind him, and saw another one of his acquaintances. He sighed with relief. "Oh...oh thank god. It's just you, Lillian. Why can't you just talk?" He looks down the hill again, seeing Jessie bandaged. "Listen, down this hill, is Jessie. I think he's wounded. Can we just...go down there and help him? OK?" He waited for a response. He was still clueless that she wasn't fond of talking, even though they had met before.

Jessie finally had the strength to talk and walk, he stood up straight and let go of the tree that he was latched on to, "uh guys...and Lillian" Jessie said with a smirk "I don't think i can get back up" he surveyed his surrounds, A few rocks, a myriad amount of tree's and a man in a suit...wait a man in a suit? Jessie looked back to the spot he saw the man but found nothing but a tree in his place "I guess my head is just a bit shaken from the impact"

I Looked around. "How did I end up in a freaking forest?" I mumbled, Putting a hand on my forehead. I don't normally drink, It's not good for your system but I did. And Boy did I regret it. "Uh, Guys? Where are you?" I said, worriness in my voice. I stood up from my place next to the tree and looked around. I had a small headache every month or so but this was as bad as Harry's when a Horcrux was destroyed. I saw a shadow out of the corner of my eye. I whipped my head around, my glasses almost falling off. It was nothing but a stupid tree! I headed off in the opposite direction, hoping to find my friends.

(Sorry about editing that last post, I wasn't sure what you were going with there... and I didn't want to seem like I was attacking too early. )

The human may not have seen the shadow.

But It certainly saw the human.

How many more humans were going to find themselves in this forest tonight, and why did they all have to be so very noisy?

No matter. Certainly this human was too disoriented and preoccupied with its headache to notice It following from a distance. Just barely out of sight. Just barely.

Best to gather as much information about Its prey as possible. It could wait... all the time in the world.

Besides, this one seemed... interesting. Less mentally shielded, somehow. Whether that was the result of its current condition or some other factor, It did not know.

But It would find out... given time.

(Yeah, its fine slender it was still amazing_)

Jessie prepared himself, the shock of seeing the man in the suit, albeit that Jessie assumed it was a trick of the mind, had scared Jessie so much that he decided to attempt to run up the hill to his friends. Jessie walked a tad closer to where he saw the man, which worried him, yet he had to get a running start. Jessie's running quickly turned into a sprint, he pushed himself off the rock he hit his head on and jumped up, quickly grabbing his new found friend Kale's hand. Jessie pulled himself up and realized the bandage on his arm was missing, no biggie he thought to himself "We have to find Jarin and Zeph, We need to find out where we are" Jessie said with new-found urgency in his voice

I Wondered around a little while longer before I saw the shadow again. "Whoever you are just come out! I won't hurt you!" I said whimpering a bit. Was I scared? To the core. I could feel it's presence. It was cold. Evil to the core. I picked up a stick for protection and continued to walk towards a hill.

The fear.

The uneasy fear, humming about the target as It silently watched, hidden but so much closer now. The taste of it drew It closer still, perhaps behind this tree, perhaps behind that one...

It did not quite comprehend the human's words, but It could easily sense the dread in them, the shaky timbre they held. How far could It push this one, It wondered, following behind the human. Should it turn, it would see nothing. No one. Such was Its way, to follow and never be seen until It desired Its prey to see.

It was ever so much fun, these little moments before the first strike, before any screams rang out or any blood was drawn, before any panicked running.

But still... how far could this one go before all that did happen? Its curiosity was too great for It to ignore now...

Intrigued, It reached out mentally to the human, gently; It didn't want it in too much pain.

Not yet.

Lillian stood behind Kale, glad to see that Jessie is all right. She pulls out a cloth as she approaches Jessie, motioning to give it to him. After offering her cloth to Jessie, she writes something in her sketchbook and shows it to Jessie. On the blank page she wrote for Jessie to see: "What happend down there?"

Lillian is hoping to get some answers. She was curious to know what Jessie saw down there. Perhaps, Jessie knows the source of who brought them here. She only hopes its nothing like what was described in her old diary entries.

I felt that fucker touch me.

A coldness so cold it HURT went through me.
I bit my lip and dropped the branch.
I wouldn't dare cry out.
I ran as fast as I could.
Far away.
I knew I would be scarred, But who wouldn't?
I tripped and stumbled, yelling for help.
MY GOD, the headache was WORSE than Harry Potter's.
