I am so sorry, Chieftain. I think my post got lost in translation. I didn't mean to say YOU were bashing anything, at all! Far from it, you actually helped to remind me to put that in my post so no one would period. Lol, you're good my friend!

Hi, Justin. I'm John, and I feel like there's a lot we need to talk about. Let's debate, yeah?

This is very long sorry :

Damn, son. I'd give a very lengthy reply back to this but... my mind is blown, and I'm (unfairly) too lazy to type back to all this. I don't want to come off as rude but I dunno where to start! I wasn't expecting someone to reply back to me with an essay so you get a lot of respect from me for that, and I'm fairly impressed. To make it brief on responding to your points, I suppose I agree with Doc when it comes to the "size" of DarkHarvest because while it may not have as many numbers in its statistics it is still very big in the fanbase and a lot of people know about it. In regards to the comparison of the shotgun wound and the gunshot sounds, I suppose it could go either way in what may be right away identifiable for some people; I noticed the sounds were wrong, others noticed the bleeding was wrong when I didn't. It seems to be a matter of perspective for some people because while you say you only cared for Alex and Chris escaping in the moment, I only cared that Mary Asher just got shot and I was taking it all in (my opinion also is that it is easier to implement gun sounds into a video when editing than it is to make fake blood spread out a certain way). To fear in human beings, I'll agree with you that Noah is too angry sometimes for no other reason than to be angry, but to me I see too often characters being scared most of the time whenever series have gone on for two or three years. I do expect characters to be scared, but I'm sure realistically there would be some level of adjustment after such a long time. But good job on taking the time out to make such a lengthy and thorough reply!

I think it's been made understood by now that The Doctor was throwing in a statement at the end of his reply in regards to bashing and such as a reminder and not so in regards to what Chieftain said, and I wanna say that I understand he wasn't bashing but was just making a comment on John's post. I laughed when I saw it because when I was reading through John's post I was thinking, "Oh crap, I'm screwed"! I love the people on this forum and have respect for them, and I think the other users here on this site feel the same. Smile

Also, I hope it doesn't come off like I'm bashing anyone (especially xyzombie) or am just some fanboy of TribeTwelve and believe that AdamRosner can do no wrong, everyone is welcome to their opinion and it can be fair to dislike something.

The Doctor Said:
JustinDGBZ Said:

Let me begin by stating that none of this has been meant to bash any individual - whether it was JustinDGBZ, Adam Rosner / Nimbus, the fictional Noah Maxwell, or The Doctor. Alright, now let's dive in.

This size issue is non-debatable. Darkharvest00 is does not have as big of a view record as TribeTwelve as of this date. Its viewer count is lower. Crazythatcounts ran the numbers, showed you the math - it's blatantly a smaller series. It also started more recently, and with less experience with video editing or networking than Adam has currently with TribeTwelve. The way you two sound reminds me a great deal of modern beliefs in regards to climate change. Yes, people are entitled to their own opinions, but when there are statistics about temperatures, and records about an annual decrease in landmass, it's hard to argue against the fact that we're losing chunks of the polar icecaps every year. There's an extent to which things are debatable. Certainly somebody can believe that the number 5 is as large as the number 8, but there are established rules dictating that it is not. A word that crazythatcounts used, that I'm surprised that specifically The Doctor missed was "relative", considering TARDIS stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space. Is it a "small series"? No. Is it as big as Tribe Twelve? No. If you disagree with this, I highly recommend you look at the two youtube accounts, their numbers of subscriptions, and their view counts per video.

The Doctor, above, stated "You seem to be failing to take into consideration the budgets, time constraints, and availability of props/supplies." That's simply not true. crazythatcounts, like myself, simply holds this youtube slenderman series to the same standards as any other youtube slenderman series. It's not an issue of money, or time, or availability, the issue is - one shouldn't rush out an entry if it's not going to be good even compared to the established standard of their own series. If Rosner was short on time, he could make an OOG announcement about needing more time - he's on his own time frame normally anyways, nobody is rushing him and he certainly takes his time when it's focusing on a single date for six+ months at a time. If it's money, one can get corn syrup and red food coloring for about $10 total - I just amazon'd it. I he needed $10 so bad, he could probably have asked his fans, or made a kickstarted. I'm just saying it would have been worth scrimping and saving up for realism purposes. Availibility? Assuming his local grocery didn't have corn syrup or food coloring, I'd suggest either Wal-Mart or Amazon. It's just that these changes are simple and easily fixable. I understand I'm viewing this series for free, and that one typically gets what they pay for, but I dunno. Easy fixes, man.

In regards to the blood. It's less specifically about how the blood spread, Justin, and more about how silly the entire thing looked (and how easily that could have been avoided). For starters, the coloration was a pinkish red. If he had added some sort of yellow, or orange, or even a green, and it would have been a lot better. Also, if he absolutely had to edit in the blood digitally, he could have re-shot the scene, and edited it in with a static break - like he does occasionally anyways, and made it so that when Mary fell, she didn't have a very visual wrinkle in her shirt where blood would be edited in later. It makes the perfect circle even less feasible, as the circle ignores the fold - physics. Also, as crazythatcounts stated, it travels upwards vertically just as much downwards vertically. It was almost like in CaughtNotSleeping when the water flowed backwards up out of the sink - though in that universe it actually made sense and was an intentional visual. A quick fix for this would be to have shifted the circle down, and expanded it in a single direction.

Finally, I want to say that I don't have some vendetta against TribeTwelve. In fact, I actually enjoy watching TribeTwelve - if I didn't, I wouldn't watch it at all. These things that are seemingly nit picky are just my observations of recent immersion issues. It honestly breaks my heart, because it has this series has so much potential, and has shown such skill. I don't expect perfection, and I don't think that if I suggested any changes that Adam Rosner would listen to me. That was never the intention of this thread. It has been from the start about my beef with how there are TT Fans that bash me all to hell when I announce an observation of a fault and either tell me I'm wrong, or that simply refuse to see it. This beef seems to be observed by others, and it is comforting to know that I'm not alone out here. I've also learned to chock this up to "fandumb" and not to lump all the fans of Tribe Twelve into this behavioral pattern.

Very well said. :DI think the only thing I need to add, which I think got a little missed, is that I'm not even holding Adam's editing quality to anything other than his previous editing quality. When I was told of TT, I was told "it's this series with a meh story but the editing it by far the best". I was literally introduced with the idea that the Slenderman quality is above par for TT, and he usually succeeds with his editing. I've seen some CGI that is fantastic, and that's why the blood irks me so, because it looks lazy in comparison to his own previous work. It would be one thing if the series hadn't been all that good at CGI and rendering a wonderful, tentacle'd Slenderman and then put out that image, because it's understandable. But seeing what Adam has already done and seeing that blood is like seeing such in a Marvel movie, where they have a standard they've already met. That's honestly what I was comparing him to, and I think it just needed to be restated.

Also I didn't mean to flame anyone, or offend anyone. I tend to get a tad passionate about theatrics and editing because it's what I do, and I do tend to use italics to emphasize my thoughts kind of hard because text can be lacking, and I'm sorry if I came off as bashing anyone. I honestly enjoy watching and critiquing  Tribe Twelve, because if every series was perfect forever honestly watching and seeing how so many people handle the same idea wouldn't be fun at all.

Yes, that's the point. They're edited in quite well. This gunshot wound was not.

Wow this debate sure is raging… I am far too lazy to read all of this… I think everyone should just take a step outside, go get some 31 flavors and then sit under a tree and play a tune on a harmonica. That always brings my debate level down. Not that I don't love a good debate but from what I can see it seems to me that you guys are just repeating the same stuff over and over again and it's the debate is crossing over to the 'mindless rambling' stage… Though I guess things are calming down a bit.
