New year, new member.

I think I just used an 'in which' joke in 2015, which would get me banned if there were hard rules against cliche. But I think that's enough to at least get my foot in the door, so now I'm going to go ahead and put the rest of myself through the door and hope for the best. You guys seem nice enough, so I'm guessing nothing too bad will happen to me.

Anyway, I'm Faiko, a 21-year-old objective failure and writer from California. I like cold weather, thick fog and wasting my time. I've been on a bit of a hiatus from the internet for a while, mostly for school and work, but I thought it was about time to get back into the scene and try meeting some new people. 
So I went and caught up with all of my favorite stuff, watched the end of Marble Hornets and immediately remembered how much I actually liked this mythos and the community around it. I don't remember exactly how I found out about tall, dark and faceless (I am just full of cliche jokes today, must remember to fix that), but I feel like a high school TVTropes binge is to blame. I remember being drawn in to the quiet mystery of it all, the creeping sense of supernatural horror, and the endless creativity of the community. I remember wanting to join this very forum shortly after I finished watching EMH, but that was also just around the time that Slender hit the Let's Play scene, and the entire community seemed a little... flooded, let's say. I didn't really feel like getting lost in the crowd, so I backed off and went back to lurking and reading blogs. Then I disappeared from the internet for a while and now I'm back, and things seemed to have quieted down a fair bit, which is how I like it. 
So, I thought I'd ring in the new year by joining a new forum and seeing if I can find new ways to enjoy an old favorite of mine. Here's hoping I don't make anyone mad too quickly. Thanks!

This is obviously straying away from the topic of welcoming you, but I want to tell you of the time me and my friend made a huge pot of macaroni using two boxes of man n cheese, 3 packs of cheese mix, a cup of shredded cheese, and about 3 tablespoons of garlic powder, and it was so rich we almost couldn't eat it. I ended up eating the whole pot, and gasped from the waves of rich food churning in my stomach and flinched and couldn't eat anything for the rest of the night.

worth it.

Psh, on topic shom popic. I don't think anyone will hold it against you for not saying hello 47 times in a row. Mac stories are way better.

I actually have a wide array of macaroni and cheese stories, to be honest. Always better than a hello.

Also, how many people are generally around these days? I realize it's much quieter than it was, say, two years ago, but it'd also be a little unnerving if I was regular poster #5.

Like, I think the most we got from the other day was 5, two of which are rarely around. I think you might become regular poster #5. I know I'm on everday ever since I came back.
