Nearly a year ago I
posted a thread about the Slenderverse dying, and although many disagreed, they can't disagree now. I am the only user to log in within the last 24 hours.
I was thirteen years old (2011, my first account was banned) when I first joined these forums and back then the Slenderman fandom was really taking off. We had MarbleHornets and Tribetwelve leading the way, and these forums brought attention to so many more blogs and vlogs out there. We had people like Zander and The Doctor to look up to and guide us on our journeys on this website.
Unfortunately, with great experiences comes great drama. This site got wave after wave of giant drama fests and it scared a lot of people away. We had moderators getting banned, unfair judgements being made, people bringing slander from Skype onto here, and the cruel attitudes were growing by the day. SlenderNation was the cause of it's own downfall by the end of it all. What used to be a place where people openly spoke their opinions, became a place to discuss vlogs and new MarbleHornets episodes. Discussion ceased and the good guys left.
With Slendernation out of the picture, Slenderman began to fade too. No more was he all over the place and no more would someone hear a conversation about him in public. Slenderman is dead, and we are partly why.
All that Slenderman is now, is a misunderstood Creepypasta monster that makes love to "Ben Drowned" and "Jeff the Killer". I'd cry if I didn't already know this was coming.
Rest well, Slenderverse. Thank you for the fond memories.
