Spoiler:
This is Michael, my favorite thing about this series is their Slender Man. One thing about me is I hate seeing Slender Man walking or to much of his legs, it's very hard to do that gracefully. Another problem with new series is the Slendy isn't covered in distortion, which I think he should be. Also, his doctor idea as a way of starting up the series was intriguing.
Can't wait for more!

I know the whole MLandersen=sLenderMAn is spammed like there's no tomorrow, it's still pretty clever.

The acting is pretty solid in this one. It felt a bit stilted at the start of the confrontation in the latest vid, but other than that it's pretty good.
I like it so far, but I'll wait until the story really starts going before I say it's great or if it's bad.

What Jeebles said. The acting is pretty damn good, and it's the most attached I've gotten to a character in a blog. However, one problem I had with them is that the videos (the early ones, at least) are a bit too long for me to just sit there watching someone just talking.

I had that problem too, and I didn't really listen to him the first time through, I searched the backgrounds for Slendy (he wasn't there =[ ) and when I realized what he was talking about was important in later videos I rewatched them.

Same here. I watched all of the first, second half-listened to while I was playing TF2, and the third I just was like "eh whatever", then out came four and I had to rewatch two and three.

Ah, I was going to post a thread about this at some point. Guess I was beaten. /late
Been subbed for awhile now...it's the acting that gets me. The latest video did seem a bit strained, but it was still good nontheless. Because, uh...Tribe Twelve Thanksgiving Footage. Anyway.
I like all of the good-quality vlogs out there equally, but Michael's character just seems more human.
I will watch this closely indeeeeed.

This one seems really interesting. It has a lot of potential to be epic, I'll be keeping my eye on it. Defiantly subbed.

I'm quite glad you all agree, we will be reviewing him tonight in the podcast. This has potential to change the big three into the big four.

That reminds me that I have to listen to the podcast sometime. And get ungrounded so I can get on slenderskype.
I'm gonna guess that there's gonna be a new episode soon. The most recent youtube update said he'd give Shaun a couple days before questioning...

I like love a lot of the subtle touches so far, the insomnia, the hospital, suggestions of previously unstable mental condition, his cracked mirror in his room.
One nitpick I have is in #4, he asks people if they can see this, and says he wants to know if we can, and yet still disables his comments.
Just got to the video "The Truth". I thought that one was sort of heavyhanded from a storytelling perspective. I was pretty much already pulling everything they said about Michael out on my own. I'm not sure what the point of that one was unless they're introducing these characters who I presume are Michael's siblings or friends. (Ah yeah, newest vid explains that)
My only true complaint is that while the acting is pretty darn great, the videos ARE so realistic in the fact they go on a little long and are hard for me to concentrate on sometimes.
I really do have tremendously high hopes for this, though. Do want.

Yes the beginning length has been some issue for most people but in retrospect it is quite worth it, this is definitely moving up into my top series.

I'm really liking this series even if I think they've rushed it a bit by going straight from Shaun and the other guy slagging off Michael to Shaun disappearing. Still trying to figure out what the end of vid #5 though. When Michael looks out of the window the frame to his left is a straight vertical. When he pans right, then back left there's a dark, serpentine shape (in the traditional slendertentacle manner) that seems to move up and down and dart out of shot quickly just as he lets the curtain go. But it could also just be a window handle that my imagination is running riot with. Anyone else seeing it?

I thought it could be something at first, but I came to the conclusion it was just the angle... I didn't really see it moving, I figured it was the lock.

I'm convinced it moves down the picture and darts swifly out of shot just as he lets the curtain go
EDIT: I'm wrong. I just checked it out on hi-def. It is just the handle

Ah, MLA. I was wondering when it would get it's own thread...
I was totally dragged into it by According shortly after she discovered it. So far, it seems pretty good~
I'm partially happy because this will be the first slender-vlog where I didn't start watching right in the middle of freaking everything. :I

All I really said in my last post was "Subbed!" so let me if I may elaborate as to why.
First of all the back story given out is pretty nice I mean five videos in I know so much about Mike already that I feel very atached to him.
Also the acting is so good, when Mike stats freaking out at Shaun's roommate I felt like he was legitimately pissed off.
The shitty web cam quality of the first two entries just added to the flavor and feel imo.
I most definitely feel that this series has an amazing amount of potential and can't wait to see where it goes.

I've already posted my opinions of this series in the Unforum thread, but I figured I'd drop it here too, and this is just a subjective perspective:
The characters don't interest me. The thing I've been hearing is that the acting is great, and...I don't see it. They sit around and talk for five minutes at a time and none of it interests me. And partly I blame the acting. Michael comes off as a completely flat, boring person. What's his story? He's just out of the hospital. Woo-hoo. Why? Something we don't know but will presumably become an important plot point. Yipee. The roommates look and sound bored out of their minds. And I've heard people say that the acting is realistic? No. Being a human being is being realistic. Sounding like a human being is being realistic. Being and sounding bored do not make you realistic, they just make you look and sound bored.
But mostly, and this is my big pet peeve, is the writing. The dialogue in this series is so weak that on top of the stiff acting it's just making me want to write it off completely. If their lines are improv, then they either need to go back to their improv groups or they need to just stick to script format. That fight makes me cringe thinking about it, the exchange between the two was just horrendous. "If he's not back by tomorrow, I'm calling the cops on you". Well, that's a little rude, don't you think? How about you give it more than an hour and then start pointing fingers. What evidence does he have to back his claim? The past? The videos? Seriously? The amount of dialogue that is just dumped on us, mixed with the fact that none of it is GOOD, makes me want to smash my head against a brick wall.
Now, I don't care if Slender Man ever appears. I don't care if he's out in the open or hidden behind a tree. Hell, they could not make him pysically appear until the very last video for all I give a shit. It doesn't matter to me so long as that fear of him is present. But if you're going to go that route, then you need to make up for it elsewhere, and in this case, the acting and the dialogue need a HUGE improvement. As a writer of story and screenplay, I just find their garble repulsive to listen to, and their deliverance to be far from believable.
If by some instance they happen upon my rants, I do hope they succeed. But my main hope is that one of the people involved sees this, goes to the others, and says "hey, we need to step our shit up." If this is how they plan on delivering the rest of the series, I will remain unimpressed. Right now they're squeaking by, and are not living up to the hype and praise that has been thrown at them like the Easter Bunny throwing out chocolate eggs. I am not caring about the characters or what they're going through, nor have they given me reason to. It's bland and incredibly boring.
That's my word on the subject. Slick out.

I found this series (and on my own, which is so bonus points for me) about a month or so ago and I really like it. It is my favorite series now after Marble Hornets. They know what they are good at and they work at it. Michael knows how to engage the camera, and he knows just how much emphasis and paranoia to interject so it isn't over the top like other. Plus, it isn't the FUCKITTY FUCK-FUCK dialog that everyone uses. *cough*i'mlookingatyounoahandevanandjakeandwellmostallofyouactually*cough* I don't have a problem with cursing (no really) it just gets a little boring after awhile. Micheal is just numb enough to allow the audience to sort of panic on their own without the laugh factor of the rain of F-bombs.
It almost works like a slenderblog in that it allows most of the work to be done in the audience's mind and imagination, but we have the benefit of a real person on screen telling us exactly what is going on and showing us how it is effecting him.
I really am looking forward to this series developing.
