| Eldritch abominations being killed is nothing new. The most obvious example would be Cthulhu, who got hit by a boat in his first appearance and 'died'.
My opinion? Sure, the Slender Man can 'die' (though it'd take a lot of effort to actually kill it in the first place). But death for it is not like death for us, so of course it will be capable of coming back. And the next time, the method you used before probably won't work... And it might even be stronger. Iunno, never killed an eldritch creature before. That's my interpretation of the thing, though, because I find it more scary in that it's something you're able to harm, but it just adapts to whatever you throw at it and will keep coming back for you. It also ramps up the hopelessness of the situation, I guess you could say.
Tl;dr Yes, it's capable of being killed but it will kill come back because death is not permanent for it.

| My fan-fic version of slenderman or his full name Jack Slenderman is the Living representation of Fear. He is a forth dimensional being that exist to moderate and keep fear alive throughout the aspect of time. Which means as long as he's alive fear exist. He is something I like to call a Label: a 4th dimensional being that represents a feeling. They have crisp white blood the basically looks like paint. He can be killed like any other person however he can only be killed if he is in a 3rd dimensional form. Since Labels are made up of time and aspects they can't really be threatened by anything because they're body's can automatically go back in time or replace the timeline to change their fate if it's of negative nature (like death).

wasnt that the weakness of the aliens in Signs? Yes. Yes it was. One of the more pathetic weaknesses out there (though traditionally superior alien threats to Earth have been undone by their own hubris in just this way).

wasnt that the weakness of the aliens in Signs? Also the Triffids, in the shit movie adaptation. I guess that's less idiotic than Signs as it wasn't really suggested that the Triffids came to Planet Water EveryFuckingWhere on purpose, but still... yeah, fucking ridiculous. But then, all super-weaknesses are.

Yeah, but there's War of the Worlds hubris, which at least makes sense as it's a danger they maybe didn't know about; and then there's the equivalent of humans electing to colonise a planet where it rains hydrochloric acid every five hours, which does not.

What about Independence Day hubris, where the aliens chose the one planet who had compatible computer technology? (Of course, there's a case to be made that I hadn't thought of before, where the human race is able to develop MacBooks because of the advances given by the crashed ship in 1947. Hmm.)

Well yes, and there are other issues with ID4, like that aliens don't change their spaceship design at all in 50 years, or that they design their ships so that the one vulnerable part hangs out like a big green scrotum. I mean, fair enough, kamikaze pilots might be a legit super-weakness, but it's sort of hard to believe that it never came up before. Oh, and then there's Battlefield Earth, but... ugh.

| All this talk about alien weaknesses, and I'm still confused why movie aliens always even bother with a ground invasion instead of just killing everyone through orbital bombardment. | |

Because they need humans alive (?) for some inadequately explained reason (?) so pretty much like the slender man mythos, really.

| To kill the Slender Man, you must first kill the Internet. | |

So some kind of super computer virus, then? But with movies being made, blogs and videos already downloaded, and word of mouth of course, I think it may be too late for that. Humans will adapt to the internet going down, and Slender Man will use that to his advantage. I still think the key is his suit, somehow. We must destroy the suit. There HAS to be a reason why the Operator symbol is identical to the "Do not dry clean" symbol.

Also I could go about describing just why it's nearly impossible to "kill" a tulpa-style entity, but that would ruin some things that are IG for me.

I'm assuming it's because consciously NOT thinking about something is really really hard?
