Tapes a metaphorical character?

Is it possible that the tapes in MH can be seen as a metaphorical, collective character? Like, they're already a gigantic element to the series, so they should also be able seen as a sort of figurative character.

I'm afraid by that logic Rosswood Park is a character.

Well, Rosswood Park is a place they haven't been to in ages, but the tapes are something that is always coming into play and always playing a role.

You're right, though.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with thisistheend, the tapes are a very, very important plot device for the series, but to be a character there has to be characterization, which the tapes do not have.

I do agree that it is a good theory though.

The tape is my favorite Marble Hornets character, actually.

I agree with Awkward Raptor, the tapes are more of a plot device than a character. There's not any characterization with the tapes, they don't change in any way and remain the same through out the series with the same purpose.
