Now that's just messed up, man D;

Personally... the thing I find most frustrating is when the characters have absolutely no clue - or they don't act like a rational human. It's understandable to be a bit rattled under pressure, but I know for a fact that if I were to walk into a house that had been previously fine, only to discover the entire place was turned upside-down and wrecked - I'd pick up the nearest hefty object and use it to club anything that came near me.

More common sense would be nice, (the idea being that even common sense won't save you - but at least you feel like they did everything they could).

As for the Proxies... I disagree.

Everyone has their niche, and I happen to be a big fan of the idea of them, provided they don't overshadow the man himself.

Using a Proxie shouldn't be an excuse to avoid involving the Slender Man altogether - he needs to remain relevant, otherwise it's just dudes trundling around and occasionally hitting masked men with rocks.

Hmm. Oh, don't plagiarize other series' shots of static or anything. This was discussed on SlenderSkype because one video series did that.

TribeTwelve was like an homage at first, but people started riding his ass on it, so he made it into a better story.

Tribe Twelve is pretty cool, but I don't know why some people watch that and forgoe Everyman HYBRID.

What kind of editing software would one need to fully materialise the hope of a video series?

Well, TribeTwelve has the best effects. EMH started out good, but many people lost interest when they spread out their story too far.

If there's one thing I hate it's when the inevitable Slender distortion is blatantly a photoshop filter. There's a certain amount of leniency of course to keep everyone's videos from looking alike, but things like the Dark Harvest video where everything suddenly goes green and red, those are right out

I enjoy Slender Man static and distortion - the idea that his self defense mechanism involves tampering with electrics is Quite brilliant...

But it has to be well done.

If you're going to do audio distortion, remember to mix it up once in a while. Don't just stick with static, try mixing in garbled voices recorded with bad microphones, various tones, and of course some odd clicking. Try also to match it up with what's going on in a scene as well as you can. you can use the fade in/fade out feature on tones and static to give the impression that something on screen is causing the distortion.
