| Hey SN! So the thing is, me and 4 friends trying to get a Rake video series off the ground. I know that this has been done and said before, but I'm really serious about this. Only thing is, I'm stumped for storyline, and thought you guys would be the place to go.
So we have a basic underlying concept. (Friends names are Josh, Ben, Billy, Jordan and James (me)) Ben dares Josh to steal a USB drive from one of our teachers, who has always been unusually attached to it. Having done this, he finds the drive to contain a single text document, made of gibberish characters. Tom decodes them into a URL, which leads them to a site with a single video embedded on it. An exploration of SCP-087, the stair case with the crying girl near the bottom. I come across the 3 of them watching it, and identify it as an exploration log from the SCP foundation. Some days later, Jordan is in hospital. As we prepare to visit him, we are stopped by an SCP agent who warns us if we ever tell anyone about what we saw, he would kill us, and said we could not see anything else, or suffer that same fate. Upon visiting Jordan, we discover that he thinks he was attacked by a small humanoid creature whilst out at night. We eventually decide to check the SCP logs, which Tom is able to access via the isolated strings of conceivable text in the code that he converted into the URL originally. Through the SCP databases, they discover the creature is called The Rake, that they are attempting to capture it (to no avail) and that it has been sighted in the area.
This is where we grind to a halt. I need some second opinions and ideas. I'll credit you in the vids somehow.
Thanks, Etreo

| ... So essentially five kids steal a usb that just happens to contain a coded url that just happens to lead to an investigation of one the most overexposed scps that just happens to be a real log. One of these kids is hospitalized and his friends are then visited by an "SCP agent" who, instead of administering memory suppressants as is their normal policy, threatens to kill them if they tell anyone else and says they'll end up in the hospital too if they don't back off. So the friends, being the reckless idiots that they are, choose to ignore this warning and, with magic hacking skills, breaks into an online scp database, which just happens to have a file on the Rake.
That's one of the most insane series of coincidences I've ever heard of. Starting with: How the hell does a teacher have a usb with only one file that has all of these coded messages that leads to the SCP foundation?

| Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Rake is an SCP either? I mean, if you want to go the SCP route, they've got a bajillion other things to work with. | |

| My advice? Start from scratch, pick something other than the Rake, and actually write a plausible concept other than "LOL WE TOOK THIS THING". It's not believable and is so obviously ham-fisted that it makes my head hurt and it hasn't been produced yet.
Also change your font color. Contrast is a bitch.

Point taken. I appreciate that it's pretty far-fetched, and this is why I want your ideas to go with. It's a feeble concept, and I was hoping you'd have suggestions on how to improve it.

Do your research or stop forever. Plus why is this in the section for slender series? Shouldn't be in another section? Also OP, no offense but this is awful. EDIT: and fuck your eye hurting cyan text

| This is still technically out-of-game discussion, but we don't have any subforum that specifically applies to out-of-game discussion on a non-slender series.
Not to mention, this person came to us and asked politely (as well as literately!) for advice on how to improve their idea before they went ahead with it. They're not trying to offend anyone personally with the idea. The very least we can do is respond to them politely and actually offer them feedback on how to make their idea into something you would actually want to see.

| I would like to point out that I was quite kind as measured on a scale typical of my interaction with people. | |

| Ok ok, I apologize if I came off as rude.
I suggest you scrap any involvement with the SCP foundation. That's a can of worms you really don't need to open. As for how to start, it really depends on what kind of Rake you want to have.

As do I apologise. You should also try to make it a little believable. The majoraty of people who watch creepypastas (and by majority I mean only me) have a suspension of disbelief. I try to believe slenderman is possible while I watch a slenderman vlog, or other creepypasta. But if its as impossible sounding as this it just makes the story less interesting IMO
