Dream Encounters

The first dream was really light-hearted, and I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I woke up from it. Basically, I was a few years younger and my parents sent me to this week long summer camp. Bored, a few other kids and I had decided to break the rules and venture off into the woods, to play a little hide-and-seek. While I was hiding, I heard something behind me. I turned to find a ten-foot-tall, blank faced fellow bending over to look me in the eyes. After a couple minutes of silent confusion, he was the first to act. He 'spoke' to me in an 'every-voice' type brain whisper: "...I need my hat." Long story short, I took him to a department store to pick one out (he rejected all of my choices, eventually wandering off and coming back with that ever-so-dashing black fedora). He went into a changing room (not that it was necessary, or that he actually fit in it), while I am left waiting outside for him, feeling awkward. That's when I woke up.

The second dream was a bit longer, but definitely not as cheery. I was walking out of my room and into the living room, when I paused. Just beyond the door frame, He stood with his back facing me, towering over my two younger brothers. They just stared up in a trance, unmoving and expressionless. I didn't doubt what I was seeing, and I had already started to plan a way to escape without making any noise. There was a doorway that led to the hall. If I could make it there, I'd be out. I slowly inched sideways, towards it. All I had to do then was push it open. I nudged it little by little with my finger, until... creeeeeeeeeaaaaak. My heart skipped a beat as the door made that awful sound. My brothers dropped to the floor as that sickly-thin terror snapped it's head in my direction. Though he was originally on the other side of the room, he'd made his way over to me in less than the blink of an eye. He glared at me from above. I became axious, shaking as tears swelled up in my eyes. There was this wave of emotions that overcame me, his way of conveying to me what he had to say. I 'felt' three things: First, he was familiar with me, as in, he knew I spent quite some time reading and watching things about him. Second, he knew I was terrified of him, and Third? He wasn't there for me, but he was planning to screw with my head anyway. He tilted his head, and the sides of his face were pulled back into a non-existent grin. A sudden, ear-piercing sound came from all directions of the room. Everything inside me hurt, and I couldn't help but scream and topple over. BAM. I woke up.

Then,there's the last dream, the dream that made me seriously question what goes on in my head. It started off with me staring out of my window. I noticed something out of place over by some trees across the street. After I went through the whole "oh man oh man thats a guy over there why he don't have no face no way man its him" bit, I freaked out and ran into my parents room. My parents were sitting up on their bed, staring at the TV. It played nothing but static. I asked them what was wrong,but I recieved no answer. I was already BEGGING for them to speak to me when my mother lifted her finger, pointing to a door leading to the room behind me. There, The Slender stood, swiftly slamming the door and causing all of the lights to go out. I fled the house. I ran up the street to a neighbors place, banging on the door. My neighbor answered, telling me to calm down and promising that everything is alright. "Come in and tell me what's wrong, maybe I can hel-" He paused in the middle of his sentence. "Oh, who's that man you've brought with you, coming this way?" As soon as he said that, I didn't think twice about running. I just ran. I ran past my neighbor, out of the back door, and back to my own house. I ran inside and called for anyone. As expected, no one responded. I noticed something, however. All the previously closed doors in the house were open. When that thought ran through my head, all but one door was slammed shut by some unseen force. I'm an idiot, so I rushed over to the open door. I was forced to witness my kid brother be lifted into the air by thin arms, arms that then snapped him backwards and tossed him idly onto a nearby bed. I shut my eyes tight, hoping it would all just go away. When I re-opened them, I found myself standing in a hallway, lit by a single, flickering light just above me. At the end of the hallway, black, shadowy tentacles could be seen coming my way, as a figure stepped out of the dark. I woke up then, but Christ, I didn't catch a wink of sleep afterward..
